My eight year old son got that one for Christmas... he put it together in about 2 hours.

He was very excited when he ripped off the wrapping paper and saw the box.
This set is definately one of the better sets they have out... Hmmm... I am going to have to talk him into re-doing it as the 330.

He and his brother already have their eyes on the Ferrari and the Pantera in the garage.

Scott, anytime you want to come up to DC (and bring that Boyd guy with you), you've got a 348 waiting for you. :)

Deep... you aren't just trying to score a drive in the Pantera are you? :)

I let Matt drive it a few weeks ago...

    Maybe! :)

What did he think of it? Give us motor details please...

A friend has a '72 pre-L, yellow with the P-East replicas, Woodhouse Gehling sways and Wilwood 4 pistons...

    Pretty nice car.

Have you seen this car in person?

Matt liked it, um I think... :)

No I have never seen Mike's Pantera in person but he is VERY active on the DeTomaso Mailing list and he organizes an All Italian Car Show in Atlanta every year in October.. Maybe this year we should all attend.

My Pantera still has the original 351C but it is no longer stock... Panteras differ from Ferraris in that they seem to be MORE desireable if tastefully modified than if it was bone stock. Anyway mine has a 377 Stroker kit and some other odds and ends.. the last dyno day we had it put 322 HP to the rear wheels so I am guessing about 385-400 at the crank using the usual 18-20% rule. However that was before it broke and was sent to my wifes uncle in North Carolina to work his magic on it.. all he really did was change the rockers to more appropriate ones.

Anyway it is raw and fun and the exhaust has been known to set off car alarms. :)

Somewhere around here I have a video clip of it on the dyno I will have to post it... (I have video Matt's 308 on the same dyno shhhhh)

Currently I am researching brakes as that is what it is really lacking at the moment... It still has the stock brakes and it is really starting to show.

When do you want to get together?

    Scott
