Trulli is 4th so far behind Webber, Heidfeld, and Sato. Hopefully he will be far back enough not to hold up the fast guys in the race.

Barichello 1.16s off Webber's provisional pole. 10th so far, just behind Villeneuve. Not looking good for Ferrari.

Wow, Michael takes provisional pole! Beats Webber by 0.064s. The lead Ferrari will be at least P6 on the grid. How much fuel?

On the way to what looked like a front row position alongside Kimi, JPM loses it in the final turn. Contact with the tire barrier, but damage doesn't look too bad. Should be fun to watch JPM carve his way through the field from the back of the grid tomorrow.

Right off the bat, Montoya had a puff of smoke come from slightly left of the centerline of the rear of the car - doubt that had anything to do with what looked like driver error coming into the start/finish line. Race start should be a good one with the Renault's ability to make very quick get-aways.

Will be "tuned-in" to the computer tomorrow morning to "watch" the race. Darn it - wish SpeedTv would go back to total coverage of all F1 races!

    Michael:
    Light on fuel
    Softer tire compound
    "Riskier" strategy

    Rubens:
    Heavy on fuel
    Harder tire compound
    "Safer" strategy

Please make it rain tomorrow :(

Will have to agree that the difference in speed is fuel. I will be interesting to see both Ruben and JPM tear up thru the pack

LOL yea......and don't forget that Alonso is probably carring a full tank, as for Trulli that a** is going to hold up the field again.

JPM is often good for a laugh. Today was one of his best.

Kimi was described by the US comentator as "the most facinating driver in F1 presently".

I never would have thought that given his interviews.

Damn, I was close. I was going for Alonso, Kimi, Jenson. Time will tell on the race.

Ahh cmon, its not all about how the interviews goes... i think his facinating becuase of hes "coolnes", how he handles situations. Sure hes not very facinating when he speaks english, but thats probably just becuase hes not good at all when it comes to english.

    Thats just my opinion :)

I'm more impressed by the fact that he knows enough English to give interviews that are understandable, albeit a bit uncharismatic.

Could we say the same thing if Jeff Gordon were to be interviewed in German on Auto und Motorsport?

i agree 100% with you. People sometimes forget that not everyone has english as their first language... i know for sure that im not half as excting when i need to speak english rather than swedish lol :)

The good news is that "the rolling chicane" Trulli is behind Michael for the first time in a long time. So hopefully Mickey can get a jump on Fisi as he is on the cleaner line and stay on for the podium.

Raikkonen opposite lock moment was amazing to watch. Montoya's was even more spectacular - too bad he had to stuff it into the barrier.

I hope Raikkonen wins this one and Alonso gets third or fourth (very unlikely though) to make the championship a little closer.

I'm going with the Michael light on fuel "to look good in Germany" strategery..

Same with both Williams. Rubhino may be heavy, but he's still off the pace. Slower cars, running "heavy" qualified ahead of him.

I don't think anyone has anything for the McLarens and Renaults.
