In a better car, Speed may have shown his, well, speed. But his future sure is not looking good at this point.

He backed the car into the wall in session one, not sure it was his fault, I heard that something broke, possibly a tire or suspension. He was not hurt. But it was hard enough that combined with his previous injury, he may feel pain in the morning.

As much as I'd like to root for an American driver Scott continues to come across as a total dork. Did you guys hear the interview after the crash? He really rubs me the wrong way.

Not sure his seat at TR is in danger though. Selling Red Bull in the US is a huge deal. Just think about all the money RB has sunk into finding him. They'll hold on to him for at least another year.

Klien however seems to be finished. The Speed guys even commented how the current edition of Red Bulletin has him packing his bags. Must be tough.

I am a happy camper to see Kimi on Pole. Its a darn shame that a driver of such fantastic talent was invisible for most of the year. Hopefully he will get on the podium tomorrow. I think his car is lightly fueled and perhaps a win is out of the question.

Its a good opportunity for Michael to make up some of the 17 point deficit tomorrow. Hopefully he will be able to win.

As for Alonso, he was whining over nothing but as someone earlier said the pressure is getting to him. If the gap keeps reducing in decent sized chunks like the last two races, it will be a good opportunity for us to see how Alonso can take adversity. We know how Michael motivated himself when the car was crap - 2005. he passed the test with flying colors. Michael was the Rock of Gibralter last year while even Montezemolo and Todt were cribbing about Bridgestone.

I wish the gap will come to 5 points soon and then it will be a battle royale. I can't wait!!!

I like Scott Speed when he is interviewed. He comes across as a guy next door. He seems like a fun guy and his speed seems to have improved - he needs to be more consistent and mistake free though.

This season hasn't been too kind to rookies though - Rosberg, Speed, etc. Even semi-rookies like Klien have had it tough.

Have you already forgotten his lackluster performances when the car was in midfield? Spinning out behind the pace car comes to mind.

In the beginning, Renault clearly had the best car on the grid. Now, Ferrari has made leaps and bounds and the momentum is gathering, I hope ol Michael can pull off WDC #8 and then retire. As I've always said, give Michael an equal car/team and the smug Spainiard is toast. :D :D

If you look at individual incidents like the one you mentioned or the one where he veered into Albers on the installation lap of a GP, Yes he made mistakes but take the performance over the season as whole and its clear that Michael gave it his all.

His incident in China was due to his tires going off in a bad way and he slid off the road during a safety car led lap. I think the Albers incident was a mistake because he was on the radio and thought about weaving around to warm up the tires without really checking his mirrors.

But his performance over Barrichello's was startling. I maintain he did an awesome job last year even if he didnt win many races. To finish third on the championship was a creditable achievement.

I hope this post goes thru. This is second friggin time I'm typing it .. bloody site is flaking out on me today

I really hope Kimi can come out on the podium in this one. I think he deserves it. Of course, I would love to have a Ferrari 1-2 with Kimi in 3rd with two Renault DNFs. They are WAY overdue for a DNF IMO.

Am I the only one that is concerned about Renault REMOVED the 'damper' from their car and Ferrari did NOT. If Michael wins and Ferrari looses the challange then Michael get NO points Alonso gains 4 (Alonso fineshes 7 Michael and Massa DQ'ed) Alonso will at least finish 4th.

Ferrari did not bring the damper with them. It is back at the factory in Italy.

I in a way, felt bad this morning when I let out a cheer after seeing FA get P7 on the grid. I respect FA so much as a driver, but am still die hard tifosi. Glad to see Ferrari and BS are finally peforming very well and possibly turning this season around.

Congrats to Kimi, hopefully he has better luck here than he has in the past, a podium would be great for him, but finishing the race is something he, and his Mclaren have to accomplish first. Looking forward to tomorrow/later this morning's (For those of use that work night shifts.) race, should defintely be interesting.

I'm beginning to think that MS will be returning to F1 next year. If you look at it, the car is, at this stage in the season, the best car in the field. Traditionally, the strongest car at the end of the season carries the momentum into the next season. This sets MS up very well for an 8th DT (assuming he doesn't win it this year). Secondly, Bridgestone will become the sole tire supplyer next year, giving Ferrari an added advantage compared to their closest rivals, all of whom have been clad in Michelin rubber for quite some time now.

Oh yeah: Excellent result for Ferrari! MS has an excellent chance of winning this one...

I believe I've been telling you guys this for how long now that I don't think he'll retire this year when others on here have him too old to compete and retired.
