It's about that time of year again. What would be a good date for a little polar bear drive and lunch/dinner for you guys before we pack the cars up for a couple of months? Lets lock it in now early.

I'm game. Pick a Sat or Sun in Dec.

Prefer a drive and lunch but would do dinner also.

Alright, lets narrow it down a little:

Sat the 9th or Sat the 16th?

Maybe an afternoon drive and early dinner around 5 or so.

What works best for the most of us?

Sat. the 9th works for me. I'll be out of town on the 16th. Lunch is better but dinner is fine. Just as long as it's not raining.
Tommy what are you talking about, 'putting it up for the winter', for the last 4 years, I think, the longest my F-car has been in the grarge is 3 weeks.

Me too. It's just that nasty cold late Dec to mid Feb. I just don't bring her out much then.

    Either date works for me.

If I put my car up I have to walk.

Dec 9th is great. I'm with Branco; lunch is better than dinner. But can do dinner.

I hate winter too but the webers absolutely love it.

    That makes 6 so far

The 9th it is. I'll come up with a little drive route. Any suggestions for a restaurant?

Bella (or Bellas) in Mt Brook, across the street from La Paz. It's got the right name and location for a Ferrari lunch, and *may* be open for an early dinner by then. We could do a city drive (e.g. Sloss Furnaces, whistlestop cafe, Vulcan, the U.S Steel castle home in MB, Zoo, etc.) this time if we wanted that restaurant.

Olexa's is another good MB spot for lunch.

For an afternoon drive and early supper, perhaps G, Local, 26, Ocean, Las Angelis, Sol E Luna, or The View (at The Club with good parking).

Just offering suggestions. I'm not married to any of those places/ideas.

I live in Mountain Brook and have never even heard of half these places!

Let's do lunch at some of these places and check them out before the 9th!

The Standard Bistro (never been myself) - if Tommy's route takes us to the south?

The Standard Bistro doesn't look too bad. Plus it fits in with the little route I use with the BBMC down 25 (like we did last year). Unless anyone has serious objections I'll check in with them this weekend about a private dining party reservation.

I've eaten at The Standard Bistro several times and can recommend it. It's low key, not much traffic and enough parking for our cars.

Hello guys. I'm new to this thread. I happened, by chance, to meet Branco this weekend in an Arby's parking lot in Homewood. Will someone please post a link for me to join our local Ferrari Club. Thanks, and I look forward to meeting you guys. Philip

Always good to have another Ferrari fan in the area - Welcome

No special club I'm aware of - most of us are FCA members I would guess.
