I just moved to Peapack and I can't believe how many Ferrari's drive by my house. Red 575, Silver 550, Brownish/Grey 308, Green 355, red Dino. I swear I even saw a California Spyder a few weeks back. Anyone on the board frequent Holland Ave? I perform a lot of Executive Search work for FNA so I tell my wife I'm part of the club... just without the car.

I do know the area and it is a true "car lovers" meca. Many P-cars, F-cars and of course the best of the best in that area. I would love to move down there as well, but it's too far from NYC for me. As for being a "part of the club", you are...your on F-chat! ;-)

Just updated the profile. I've been lurking around the board and I'm impressed with the Tri-state chatter. I have to be honest and say my first sports car will probably be a 993 in the spring, then a Ferrari down the road. No money for the car right now... If you saw my house in Peapack you'd know why.............. I feel like freakin Bob Villa after this one.

Let me know when you're ready to go for the 993 and I'll be happy to help you find the right one (Black 355 is also the man with P-cars). I myself plan to go the F-car route very soon after spending many years in P-cars (I plan to keep my 993). I can only imagine how beautiful your house must be. Peapack/Gladstone has some incredible older homes that have been renovated to breathtaking detail. I myself love older homes and actually restored my as well...it was originally built in 1870 and has character that just can't be duplicated with new construction. Keep us posted and once again welsome to F-Chat EC!

I'm in the barn red house with the white porch(was lime green and white) so send me a beep next time. I guess I'm on the test drive loop for The Stable in Gladstone. I was down there the other day but nothing Italian. Just a few high priced 80's 911's. That guy and High Marques must have their own price guides.

True that. I actually bought my first 911 from John @ High Marques and while they do get Top Top Dollar for their cars, they're typically the best examples you will find on the secondary market. Or at least they used to be...

my boss has a red 95 993 cab with 20,000 miles that is an absolute gem. 10 out of 10. If he holds onto it until the spring I plan on making him an offer. I'm thinking $35-37 would be a deal but I think he is looking for $40-42K. Red isn't my first choice but since I know the cars history from new and the service I could accept the red. 993 guy my what publishing company do you work for?

Sounds like a nice example and probably a good purchase for you, but you are talking High Marques prices there. A 95 993 will probably wholesale in the high $20's by the time you make your offer...take into account the mileage and condition of the car that you mentioned and I would add maybe $5k to that number and posssibly a couple of bucks or two because you know what you're getting. My 993 is a 96 and is loaded to the gills in excellent condition with 43K miles. I would ask about $40K realistically for my car and the 96 is a much better buy due to the Varioram as opposed to the 95. Just a little food for thought.

I work for IDG which is a Boston based B2B Technology Publishing Company. Are you in the biz or know someone who is?

Yep. We created the "Dummies" books. Sold the company about a year or so ago though. We also owned Cliff Notes and sold them as well. Moved out of the book publishing arena altogether...

When you say up to, I would imagine you mean stock price/valuation? If so, we're a privately held company with annual revenues that exceed $4 Billion. Last time I checked, we weren't looking to sell any of our properties, but hey if you've got some $$$ burning a hole in your pocket let's talk! ;-)

The Stable had an Espada for a while in the showroom, and once I was in there they had a 275 in the shop with the engine out. Paint was in terrible shape.
