Anyone had any experience swapping the Holley Red pump for the Facet in carb'd cars? I was wondering if it is any quieter than the thumping of the facet.
    Many thanks

I have one in my 78' 308. It is pretty noisey though.

i like the noise. 1) i know its working 2) you can hear the " pitch " change when the carbs fuel bowls are getting full and the pressure changes.

I have heard the facet pitch change; I guess the decision is between the thump-thump of the facet and the whine of a Holley....

i have wasted much of my youth on dragstrips and junker race cars. my humble opinion is the Holley stuff will last a summer or two, but the parts i have seen from them are not meant to have a " long service life" . where will you be when the cheapo pump fails?
of course, i know little about the Facet pumps, i " think" my 308 has one, i know the pump was replaced, but i am almost sure it was not a holley. if it is i will make note of it. old ferraris have enough problems, i dont want to reverse engineer any more in!!!

    Thanks all
Good input as you don't feel they are very reliable; the facet pumps have fewer moving parts and I believe may be less prone to fail.

Any pumps out there that folks would recommend as reliable?

    many thanks

I must disagree. My holley pump has been on my 308 for 6 years without any trouble. Plus my 308 has over 110K and I drive it so this isn't sitting time.
