Howdy all, Apologies in advance if this is a bit too much to open a post just about some `silly` wheels. But it took sooo long to find these and get them shipped in from the other side of the world with a world of issues happening in between, but in the end it all worked out. Big thanks to mathewr. I cannot recommend this F/Chatter enough. They cost a leg and an arm, but for some reason I dont mind. I am in the process of getting my Black 1998 550 with carbon race seats back to original state as it had a GTO style racing stripe, and dark wheels and darkened emblems. Will post pics shortly of the new and improved car with these new wheels. Anyone else have the modular 18 inch wheels on their 550, curious to know how they look! Image Unavailable, Please Login
One of the all time great looking Ferrari factory option wheels ever. Looking forward to seeing pics of your car with them on.
Congrats! Obviously it's subjective... but I think modulars transform the car's presence. Especially as they age; for some reason I feel like they give it a very muscular look. Maybe because the body is becoming more and more svelte compared to the gratuitous overstyling and varied materials of today's styling (Aventador SV for example [I love it, but man is it over the top!]). Thats one awesome looking car. Couldnt agree more; the wheels transform the car into more of an Italian muscle car. Currently my car looks like this. Todos: - remove black wheels - remove black tints - remove blackened Ferrari emblems - instal holy grail - get everything detailled by professional - pop a beer and stare at it for an hour or so. My 550 has the modular wheels. Quite rare on the 550 over here in the UK. I prefer them to the modulars on the 575 as the bolt spacing is, IMO, better proportioned. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The Barchetta, and 575M modular, wheels look much better to me with spacers on the rear. 25 mm HE Type 2s work great and I have them on mine. Especially true with the rear Barchettas and the way they are deep dished.
It was a pleasure to work with you on the wheels. This my was my first time shipping wheels on an actual ship. Glad to know it worked out well. I'm counting the minutes to seeing pictures one of the best fully loaded 550s in Europe! Well done my friend. Cheers, MD Russell
I have the Modulars on my 550 also (factory installed) .. They really do make the difference and very hard to find . I had talked to Mathewr about his set to buy just incase . you will be very happy and the cost will soon be forgotten....(about 10 seconds after you install them)
My 2 cents, I think they make an incredible looking car look even more incredible and will certainly help with the resale value if and when that time comes!
Thanks all. Will try to get them installed tomorrow.. Yes, my spacers are 25mm in the rear and 15mm in the front. Will post before and after pics!
Many Thanks - I have a set that I'm going to install on my car also. Seeing these pics will be a huge help for me!
Nice meeting you yesterday at Kroymans SpeedmasterNL. The 550 looks great with these new wheels! The other guys are also owners and members of this forum (Holland/Belgium section). Peter
Me too but I was thinking it might be a 3-pedal 575 Superamerica. SpeedmasterNL, congrats on the set of Barchetta wheels! .
