Picked her up from Tim Stanfords...she's a beast!! Just keeps on pulling..I know my 550 is faster on paper, but this car is a total rush!! The direct, no power steering is like a go kart, The sound in the cabin when all 12 barrels open up is astounding. I'm in LOVE.

Thursday evening, March 1, Deerfield Beach. Great Italian. See Florida thread for ordering instructions for SSF t-shirts.

Or I can meet you this Sunday at the Boca Resort car show.

And Mark, now you know why some of us do not mind the lack of pwer steering, minimal A/C, small cabin, silly shift gate, and potentially high maintenance costs. A Boxer is a rush, even when crusing at 25 MPH. Now I will have to delay my work assignment just to go for drive today. Your fault if I get in trouble.

I used to hang from a bar in my bedroom doorway for hours just to stretch my arms. Must have worked, I can now drive straight arm like the old days.

Mark, I just got back from a drive along A1A in Boca/Deerfield. It hurt to put the car away.

    RON and MARK,

since you guys are more local to me (i'm in delray/boca), you need to help me find the right testarossa (not red - low miles black, right price)! by the way mark, thanks for the info on the PM. much appreciated. the silver bullet is a beauty!

.....i also have to say that so far, i've been a bit disappointed about this FChat forum. since i am new to ferrari, i have posted a couple of questions about the testarossa, including one for sale and haven't had anyone respond. i'm also looking for an older lambo and the lambo guys have gone far out of their way to help out. i'm NOT pinning lambo guys vs. ferrari...to me, i'm certainly partial to both (some are not....just don't get that) - hopefully it's just that i'm new and it takes time to get some traction on the site...don't know. mark was very good though...thanks again...

You got it! Exactly! There are no shortcomings when driving one of these beautiful beasts!
Who cares there’s no power steering, or the A/C only half works. The only time I’ve ever broken out in a sweat was while taking some corners a little too fast!

    mark,

i am personally pleased to hear of your great response to the car. knowing that you have owned and continue to own some e-ticket rides...your excitement means alot to me and i'm sure other boxer lovers.

these are special cars and the last ferraris that are really built like race cars in the good , classic tradition.

there is little in a boxer (driver aids) that will help you easily look like a hero but a good drive in a boxer (when you get it write) makes you feel like tony a. on a hot lap at le mans!

i look forward to your continued commentary on your new box!!

I can not answer for the TR guys, but the Boxer people are one of the most enthusiastic and knowledgeable groups on FChat. Probably because more than any other Ferrari, a Boxer is the ultimate combination of performance, styling and history. It is Ferrari in the manner that we all remember. We are passionate about our cars.

    So forget the TR, buy a Boxer. :}

The boxer is one of the most exciting car designed and produced by Ferrari.
A 1984 BBI was my second Ferrari, when I lived in Paris. I took it everywhere in Europe, and it was the most beautiful car in the world.
Driving through the autostrada del sole in Italy with the silver boxer was a dream. I took it to the tracks in Europe: Le Castelet, Dijon, Donnington, Mas du Clos.
The heavy rear was tricky and it could snap very fast, but the sounds and the look were outstanding. It looked that it could make 200 mph even if the car was standing.
Anyway, I sold it to buy a TR, which was then sold to buy a second TR.
In 2000 when I arrived in the USA I did get a 512 TR.
It was sold to buy other Ferraris.
Later, iIdid get a 512 BBLM - not an original, but a perfect clone- the car from Lawrence Stroll.
I took it to a lot of tracks in the USA: Sebring, Watkins Glenn, Moroso, Pocono. A hell of a car, you have the same fun that you have with an original, for a third of the price. Built by Sauro and Bachelli, who built the original BBLMs for Ferrari, it is exactly the same thing, and is a fabulous car for the track. Easy to drive, and the sound of that flat 12 is one of the best.
So as I always loved the Boxers, I tried to get one of the first, the 365 GT4BB, which I finally did last year. A yellow with black, 5400Km, six tail pipes, six tail lights, everything original, books, tools, the original radio, but above all a gorgeous Ferrari, in a perfect condition. I changed the belts, the brake lines, corrected some leakages and the car is perfect. It has to be one of the lowest mileage boxers in the world.
I have not had a lot of time to drive it; right after the winter, when there is no more salt on the roads, she will be out for my pleasure and the pleasure of people who will see and hear the car.
