Here is the most recent news Thank you everybody for the support. I got emails/PM from some F chatters, and it has really helped in the situation. After contacting Home Depot head quarters and customer service and the door manufacturer, and the Home Depot district manager, we have finally concluded this mess. The door was delivered last week, and it was installed. Home Depot and the manufacturer of the door credited the full $3700 for the door. In addition, Home Depot has given me $1000 cash voucher for all the aggravations they have caused me. Persistance did pay off, and I am happy to put this behind me.
