Hey boys, it is time I came home for a vacation, but alas, I must work. I am doing a photoshoot with a 'rented' F50 out in Southampton Tues-Wed. Well it is a nice break for me. I may be tempted to do a Montauk-Southampton (with a Duckwalk layover) run. Top off, sunset, oh baby, I am absolutely giddy. This is my first time in a 'fitty so it should be a blast. I would love to meet some of you if you are around. I will not be able to go to the north shore to visit family, stuck on the south fork and all. So pm me, I'll check in.
I get in first thing Tues morning and leave Wednesday on a red eye. I go straight to the location (Watermill) and it should take me only a half day of shooting so Tuesday evening I should be free and I told the client I needed the car to take to Montauk for street shots, so they gave me extra money for location work. I need to bribe the Lighthouse Historical Society to get the car on their lawn. But expect me to be a free man Tues evening and Wednesday until about 8 or so.
I may be able to meet you at the Duckwalk on Wednesday around 2ish, whats your schedule like?-MICHAEL
I plan on wrapping the first location shoot Wed morning, and getting it out to Montauk for lunch. I was not planning on heading back from Montauk to return the car in Southampton until the evening to enjoy the drive around sunset. Also because the photos of opportunity out that way are calling me. I could do Tuesday, but depending on how the shoot is going, if I can get the coverage I need at location #1. I have a shot list right now that is about 40 frames.
If anyone is around the Hamptons, I just got here a few minutes ago. My cell is (310)617-3080 I am hoping to be free on Wednesday, but we will see how things shape up today. Car arrives here on location in 45 mins-hour Gloomy day so far. Looks like we might get t-stormed out of the shoot and my drive Oh well, I need to get a few z's -Tim
"Gloomy" ?? Its like a hurricane right now.... definately not F50 weather. HOpefully it improves for you...
Tim-- Just left you a message. Feel free to keep the F50 free of charge at our facility overnight if you want to keep it out of the inclement weather. Just let me know, left my number on your cell phone. Best, Rob www.bridgemc.com
Thanks Rob, I actually have it in the garage here. It was horrible out today, doubt that I would drive it without the top across town to shoot it. Anyway, so I came all this way for a sh!tstorm! All my gear is on location, the car is with me, and my crew went into town, so an F50 without a top is my only mode of transpo until they get back. Hopefully the client will rechedule. I may have them deliver to your facility if I get a second chance.
Well, I was hoping for a break in the weather, unforunately it does not look like it is going to happen, so I am headed back to the north shore (Halesite) to visit my grandmother, aunts and uncles, then to try and get a meeting with the client to reschedule. The car is going to be trailered out of here later tonight and sent back to the owner in Boston.
it has been raining non-stop and today nobody could get the location prepped with all the mud, leaves and the taklent was booked for yesterday, the client decided to wait another two weeks before I return to reshoot.
Client's choice, not mine, I HATE shooting cars, I REALLY REALLY REALLY HATE shooting cars indoors too. My main gig is fashion, and magazine work, and since this was magazine based I had to take it. Pay sucked, but it was a free trip home.
Shooting cars is easy. You just need a MASSIVE smith rig! ;-) Did you see the 575 in Intersection a few months ago? Great fashion photography of a car... Who do you shoot for?
