Why is Super Aguri beating Honda so badly? Did Honda make their car worse from last year? It seems to me that Honda has better drivers also, Rubens and Jenson, compared to Takuma and Davidson. I was expecting Honda to be at the front, at about the same place BMW Sauber is right now, but instead they are becoming back markers. WHAT GIVES.

Remember the F2005-GA ... definitely a backwards step for Ferrari compared to the F2004.

    It does happen.

But there were lots of new regulations that year, ie. retarded tire rule, 1 per race.

Yes good point, but other teams managed to go forward. I reckon if they had never ever raced the F2005-GA and simply modified the F2004 they would have done better. It really was a piece of cr@p ... and great to see that Ferrari have a human element.

BTW: There unfortunately are regulation changes just about every year ... but I am sure you are up on that :).

The official "GA" designation (Gianni Agnelli) was on the F2003.

However, the F2005 ran as it was designed by GA-Giorgio Armani....;)

I watched an interview with Nick Fry last night, and Nick said that an investagate was underway to look at the aerodynamics of the car. So I assume that is where they think the problem is.

remember, Honda had a very good year ending chassis last year. i have no idea why they didn't develop it in into this year's challenger and save a whole lot of $$$

instead, they made the earth car, which lives up to it's name to save fuel and lacks speed. i hope SA whips Honda in Malaysia.

Yeah, I am. I just thought the changes in 2005 were more extreme than in other years, and seemed to be designed to make F1 more competitive instead of Ferrari winning all the time.
Some of the guys on speed suggested going back to last years Honda which would be faster, not being sure about this I found out that Button had pole last year at the Aussie GP with a 1:25.229 in qual, this year it was a 1:27.264, 2 SECS SLOWER PER LAP. Whereas in the same time, Super Aguri improved there time by almost 6 SECONDS.

LOL, my appologies ... my memory (and interest in F1) is fading.

Thus the dud I am thinking of is the F2003-GA then. Yeah they won I think but only after an enormous panic.

I remember one of them also saying they could have just spent a few dollars on about 10kilos of lead to get the same effect.

My interest is fading also=I'm curious because of the new crop of rookies, but if Sunday is an indication, the quickest driver in the fastest car, then it will be a boring season. Thank God for MotoGP (GO DUCATI!!).

Yeah, the 2003 GA faced some obstacles-namely the Michelin tires that would expand to beyond the legal width limits-after they were banned MS cruised to the championship.

    LOL.

It must be hard for Honda to see themselves so far off the pace. They are planning a significant change for the next race and it will hopefully bring them more speed. They will probably end up battling with Renault for 4th in the constructors championship. It won't be Button's year thats for sure!

Poor Button can't be in the right car at the right time. Wonder what he would do in the BMW rather than Heidfeld?
