I have an original 1975 CB 400 Four with less than 1,000 miles on it.

It's all there, ran when I put it away. Anyone have any idea what it's worth?

Not to be a smartass, but it is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for it. There aren't many of these bikes with that few miles on it so you are going to need to find a collector that wants to relive his past. Otherwise, some kid will probably offer you $500 for it. In all honesty, if you are looking to get rid of it, try to find a Honda dealer that needs something cool to put on display.

If it's not running now, take into consideration that parts are becoming less available on a daily basis and it could take a while to find that "one thing" to make it perfect.

Yup, thats the problem, the restoration cost would exceed the value.

But still, it would be a really cool bike to putt around on and would get attention at a gathering.

Get it running & put it on ebay. I had a 550-4 years ago, cool bike that I thought was fast until a friend got a GS Suzuki 850, yikes it would smoke me bad! I sold mine for a little over 500, but that was almost 20 years ago. Your 400 could be neat garage candy, someone out there might want to hang it over their pool table.

I have a mint 76 KZ 400 twin. Crappy power, crappy steering, crappy brakes.

    But it is cool.

I would say $1200 for as-new condition, and $500 for anything less.

I have looked at several nice CB400Fs in the last couple of years. Had a chance to buy one in good condition with 11,000 miles on it for $2000 last year. I saw several others in working condition but not as nice - asking price is usually around $1,500. I looked at it, thought about it really hard and decided to skip - it is a nice bike - but I am not a collector and do not care enough about it.

FWIW - for people that really care about it - the exhaust header might be worth more than the rest of the bike...

If you have clear paperwork tracing the ownership (hopefully you are the original owner), I'd put it on ebay, start bids at $1500, put a buy it now of $3000, and you may get lucky.

At the minimum you'll get a bunch of emails from guys with offers...
