Brawn Racing with a Mercedes Benz engine. Watch out Hambone, Ross knows how to make a car fly. Maybe Jenson Button has a chance at World Champion.

    Go Button!

I don't remember last year's car flying. I'd be surpried if this team lasted more than a couple of years.

last years car had a Honda engine not a Mercedes Benz motor, that is why you don't remember it.

Force India had a Ferrari engine, and they didn't contend did they? Honda's problem the last couple of years has been with the chassis in the aero department, not so much the engine. If this year's chassis is garbage again, a Mercedes engine will not help them.

I got a feeling with Brawn in total control, the car will be good, maybe not straight away, afterall he has been in the game long enough and its his cred on the line now.. can't wait find out tho!

+1 Steve, he brings an element of credibility most teams rarely see. I wish Honda good luck this year and its good news for the grid. The longer Brawn is there the more likely further backing is found!!!

I believe that Ross Brawns opinion differs with yours. I'll tend to sway in his direction when it comes to F1

Maybe USF1 just went and bought Honda rather than start from scratch :)

    I think Jim isn't entirely serious ;)

I don't like the Brawn <-> Mercedes connection. How many teams does Ferrari supply with engines this season? Toro Rosso...?

I thought Honda packed it in early last year to word exclusively on the 2009 package? If that is true, they should have an advantage this year. Or at least, keep their heads above water, since they lost time from not testing with everyone else.
I am not a fan of Nick Fry. He strikes me as a somewhat of a seedy, slimey type. I know someone will say, well everyone is at that level of F1 but, he just gets under my skin. Something about him and the way he operates.

I think Jim is secretly Jenson! I'm pretty skeptical about the whole program, Brawn or no Brawn. He was with Honda for two years and the car was still an aero mess. Him being in charge of the whole thing isn't going to make a difference unless the team gets bought out by a manufacturer or something. This is gonna be Super Aguri all over again.

Team will test tomorrow (Friday) at Snetterton in new colours.
Name is Brawn Racing. Nick Fry is lesser partner, Brawn major partner.
Mike Gascoyne is new Technical Director
Team colours predominately metallic blue, splashes of white and red.
MAJOR sponsor get - possibly PepsiCo.
Full livery unveiled Thursday before Australian Grand prix
Drivers are Jenson Button (1 year deal, reduced salary with Points Bonuses to make some of it up for good performance) and Rubens Barrichello (Paid per Point plus travel expenses)
Mercedes KERS to be fitted by mid-season (Force India have agreed not to take issue with this in exchange for Mike Gascoyne dropping legal battle)

Not sure if this is gospel^ unknown source.

Maybe but F1 is now manufacturer driven. Other than STR at Monza last year, I don't rememeber the last victory by a privateer team. Probably the last time Williams won.

Were not talking victorys here already are we, just more teams on the grid is better from my stand point, and as regards Honda, RB doesn't have to do alot to be much better than there last efforts don't you think.

There have been a TON of team 'principals' that can 'get it done', but the problem is, all of them 'can get it done' for only so long.

I seem to remember folks like Tony Southgate, Gordon Murray, Adrian Newey, Gerard Ducarouge, the list goes on forever, all important members that were 'hot' at some time or other, and they fizzle out.
The next thing will be, of Brawn can't get it done, who or what will you blame next ?
    'He doesn't have Michael anymore'....
    Well, nobody does, so that's a non-issue.

Don't get me wrong - I'd LOVE to see better racing across the board, because it's pretty boring to see the 'A' group of cars, a 'B' group, and then a 'C' group... Let's face it: we wouldn't know WHAT to do if Ferrari and McLaren both quit racing, but the overall racing would be better, no doubt. Not as fast, but more even competition.

I'm happy the team is still around and happy to know Jenson and Rubens will be driving.
