So my dad passed away three years ago, and I brought home his Honda Trail 90. He had restored this bike, but now it's basically sat for 10 years. I don't have a key for it, no registration, flat tires, the gas tank as gotten all rusty. I hate to part with this bike, but it's really just taking up space in my garage. Would it be better to pay a motorcycle person to get it straight and then see if I like having it around, and if not, sell it, or just sell it and move on down the road. Doing it myself is out of the question as I am not mechanically inclined at all. Heck I don't even know how to ride it. It is a sentimental item to me, but it's kind of sad just to see it covered up and not working. Thoughts?

What a fun project. I rode those back in the day. Get it barely running Sell it on bat. Personally I'd like to own one again. Fun times!

Sell it. It's not going to get better with time.
I went to a historic Motorcycle festival last October at Barber Motorsports in Alabama. Maybe 100,000 people even at a COVD high time. I never knew it was such a big thing but the biggest surprise was the cult like activity around Honda Trail 50/70/90's. You would have no problem selling it as is and from your description the work your Trail 90 needs is a slow day for this group. Here's a place to start for the Trail 90 crowd. https://www.facebook.com/groups/813736871991031

That was the bike I learned to ride on. 1965 model with the big rear sprocket and the Earles Leading Link suspension.

I had the buddy seat that fit on the rear rack on mine. Unique vehicle in that it had an automatic clutch. Just back off the throttle and shift to the next gear with your toe. Indestructible!

You decide, fix it and put in on the wall of the garage, or send it on.

I had an ST90 back when I was a kid and I still have it. Restoring it is something I need to get around to doing.

I say.. KEEP IT. Either restore it or not, but keep it.
