This post is inteded to offend anyone with scuds owners/ on-order owners. Everyone in the 360/430 section seems to be in love with this car. I for one think it suffers from severe asthetic deficiency syndrome. (SAD for short) Ok that might be a bit harsh, but to me it seems to angular. In my mind ferraris should have more natural and smooth lines. I am not a fan of the 360s looks either, but love the CS. I thought the lines of the original 430 were too agressive as they were, and now the aggressiveness has increased 10-fold. (not a good thing in my opinoin) I understand how fast it is, and what a modern marvel of engineering it is, but in terms of looks, i say  I keep looking through pictures of the scud seeing if one will catch my eye, and so far none have. I was jsut wondering what the 348/355 crowd thinks. (kind of an outsiders perspective I guess)
I think its not as good looking as pre 360 models IMO. All of its vents look like they were designed by different people, independant of each other and not knowing what part of the car they would go on....
There are always those that get never get used to new designs and these are usually the owners of the previous model. There are those that are stuck on the design of the 355. I love the 355 but it looks dated. Those on the outside (non owners) tend to more quickly become fans of new designs. My guess is that because they are not as biased as owners are. As a Challenge Stradale owner, I fear that I'm the one that is "stuck" and can't move on. I don't like the way the Scuderia looks. I'm not a fan of the gray wheels, gray stripes, etc. I think gray wheels are too boy-racer and trendy. I think the design of the new wheels look cheap, I think the new stripe looks like it belongs on a domestic car. I think Ferraris should be red, blue, black, yellow... classic colors. Not flat gray (no offense) or matte black. We're starting to go Lambo style here (again, no offense meant). I think the most beautiful modern Ferrari is the Challenge Stradale. But alas, I'm probably just "stuck" in time. On the other hand, I think a 430- if it's lowered, looks fantastic and much nicer and more modern than a 360. I think a Scud that is lowered, no stripe, with silver Scud or CS wheels- would probably look great.
Absolutely think it is Ferrari's best design since the TR. Trying to figure out how to buy one. I am not a 'premium' buyer so I will have to wait. Best Rick (LAgated360)
Only thing I like about the the scud is the larger displacement of the engine, the timing chain, and the increased power. As for looks. Nope, don't like it.
For some reason i like it in white and yellow but not so much in any other colour. I think the design could be better, but they started with a 430 so they were on a back foot anyway. I want a small lightweight mid engine Ferrari, i might be waiting a while to replace the 355.
I really like the Scud, especially my mate Andy's one. Looks much better than a standard 430. When I win the lottery, I'll add it to my 348. they'll make a great pair. PS. the blue thing in the background is a modified 355. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Not in this lifetime. They have gotten bigger and bigger and bigger. Have you seen a 430 next to a TR? Makes the 430 look like an SUV.
Yep, I agree, they almost look indecent! (Not the good sort!) But that's what we get in a world full of rules and laws regarding car safety and wind tunnels. I don't care if my car is safe, I don't care if it has 10 airbags and 18 crumple zones, I dont care if I can hit a person at 10mph and they can get up and walk away. I want it to look like a drop dead gorgeous woman. I want it to make my heart skip a beat whenever I am graced by its presence. I want it to brighten my day and make my face light up with pleasure when I am around it, I want it to scare me when I give it a boot full and most of all I want it to sound like the gates of hell screaming through some winding country roads. This might be only a dream now, but at least we have "the best car in the world" the almighty 355, this fulls my needs for the moment, and may have to be the only one for a very long time.
I think the 360 looks great, the CS better. I like the 430 more than the 360, and the scud even more. The scud looks more like a race car than the CS does. The CS is sexy, the scud looks the business. It is just a mean looking car where the 360 and CS are more flowing and sumptuous. Both the 360 and 430 are big cars, bigger than the 355. When inside, that is nice, as they are more comfotable. I had to adjust my seat in a less than perfect position to fit in my 355 GTS with a helmet on, and I am 5'10". But on a small side road with the top off in the 355, the smaller size is really nice. You cannot have it all. Make is more comfortable, it is just going to lose some edge. Make it more aggressive looking, it is going to lose some gracefulness.
I think it is awesome! It does everything well! Not to mention it will leave a 355 likes its chained to a tree. I doubt it will be a big maintenance hog either. What's not to like ------I've got an idea, coming up with the dough!!!!!!
I really like the Scud. Some of the stripes, etc. are a bit much, but when the package is tastefully done like the black one shown above with gray stripes, it looks fantastic.
The engine Yes super ! The look of the car no I like the 430 challenge cars better I think the 360 stradale looks way better then the 430 S. But we all know the F355 is the BADDEST of all.
Wow, looks like im losing this one about 20-2. I love how much power it has, I just don't think it looks Ferrari-ish
Funny how some people like 348/355 but not 360/430. Some like 550/575, but not 599. Some only like vintage. I must be in the minority in that I like most models old and new. The Scuderia is really good looking, and I've been fortunate enough to have driven one and it is...amazing. Too bad it is near impossible to procure one. The first Ferrari that has left me wondering, however, is the California. Can't wait to see one in person to see if the design comes together better than in the pictures.
The Scud is much better than than the bulgy 430. Having said that the CS is much cooler than the Scud in my book.
