Current ad on Ebay for a 355B... just made me smile - thought it may for all of you guys.

Car History: The car was involved in an accident shortly after the original owner purchased it. A friend of mine who owns three other Ferraris and races sports cars in the Rolex Series bought it and fixed the crash damage with all Ferrari parts (the frame was not damaged). In our opinion, the car is in its original form and it would be impossible for anyone to know it has a salvage title. I have had the car up to 170 mph and it drove straight and beautifully. I do have all records including the original sticker for the car.

That car is listed as a 1996 model but it has the F1 transmission, which did not become available until 1998. Maybe a misprint?

So with a salvage title it should discount what, 20-25%??

Making this a $45K car give or take a couple grand?

It's only 20 minutes from my house if anyone is interested, I'll go take a peek.

Maybe he's banking on the next owner not knowing what an F1 transmission is...

The real tipoff to many eBay scams is when someone is "selling a car for a friend."

That's the scam that the above paragraph is setting.

Then when your deposit can't be refunded or the title can't be delivered or some other critical problem in the transaction occurred, the Seller will say "I'm sorry, but my friend just won't call me back..." when he explains to you why he can't solve "your" problem.

Never buy a car from a non-owner (e.g. a "freind" selling it). Those things tend to turn out poorly.

That is a Euro market steering wheel (no air bag).

    The long way home
Probably deployed in the accident and it was cheaper to replace with the Euro wheel.

Any idea when airbags became standard on Euro cars? My car is a 1998 Euro and has the airbag...

And if that's the tone that was being set with the repairs, you probably wouldn't want a thing to do with this car...

Actually that is a 348 steering wheel - not even a Euro 355 wheel. Wonder what other 348 parts are in it?

    Cheers

That car is a mess. Besides many insurance companies will not insure a salvaged auto. Could be fun if converted to full time track car... only if it was dirt cheap of course.
