Getting married in April and I am trying to plan a honeymoon. Fiance wants to go to St. Lucia (sandals grande). Anyone been there? Recommend it? Or any similiar recommendations? thanks for any help.

My dream honeymoon is to spend couple formal nights in the Hotel de Paris in the casino square of Monte Carlo... then have a Ferrari to drive from there to Villa d'Este on Lake Como to stay rest of the week casually. Lake Como is close enough for day trips to Milan for shopping and Maranello for a factory visit and dinner if you're up for it. :)

Lake Como has to be one of the most incredible places in the world. You can go without a cruise down the lake in an old Criss Craft though.

I rented a 430 spider last year in monaco for 3 days, we were staying at the le meridien about 20 minutes from the square w/ the casino., it was in Nice They told me I couldn't go into Italy with it, I too wanted to drive it all the way through Italy. How far is como from monte carlo because I'm going back at xmas this year. Nonetheless rent the ferrari in monaco and drive it all along the water through nice and on westward its truly the most amazing thing you will ever do. This is the company I used, they have great prices.....I see they have a 599 now for only $2200/day....thats sick because I paid $2500/day last summer for 430 spider....phantom drophead too, theyve added quite a bit. The age thing doesnt matter either if your under 30, I paid them $1500 cash and the rest on credit and they let it slide. good luck

Thanks! I'm bookmarking that site. :)

And Monte Carlo to Lake Como is a little ways, but I bet it is a BEAUTIFUL drive. :)

On the right side of this map you can also see Modena... Maranello (Ferrari factory) is just outside of that. When I did the factory tour in 2005, we drove from Modena up to Como for the weekend and it was definitely one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.

I've been to St. Lucia once about ten years ago. I did not stay at Sandals. It is a little more 'third world' than some of the other Islands (Like St. Thomas), but is a very nice and scenic place. The locals can be a little scary, but at the resort I'm sure it is fine. I just went on a western Caribbean cruise and the best water was off the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico. Have fun!

How about a cruise? Very romantic and you can book a suite with a balcony on a VERY large ship. Newly married, you'll probably want to have quick access to a room on a minute notice ;) I think you'll find your money will be well spent on a ship and will probably save half of what you had in mind.

I got married in August and we just went to Oahu because that is where I grew up. We sped off from the Dinner in a 456 so the whole experience was awesome.
