The hood seems to be held down tight but at very high speeds, the hood latch warning light comes on. This common?

I just returned from Germany where I had 290 km/h on the clock (180 miles/h) without the hood latch warning light coming on my 575M. Btw it is great fun to engage 6th gear at 250 km/h where the German cars like BMW, Audi etc. limit the speed of their cars :)

    :D:D I had scared sh*tless witnesses! :D:D

Actually, now that I think about it, when I did it in another 550, the light went on in that one as well...

Ask Carby to ask his "Old friend" she was there! ;):):)

The faster you go, the higher the depression over the hood. As it is sucked upwards it reaches a point where it does not exert enough force on the microswitch any more, and you get the hood light.
Try putting a few small stickers on the portion of the hood which abuts against the switch, the extra thickness should help to keep it depressed.

Another simple solution is to put a black tape over the hood latch warning light :)
