    Hi everyone.

The hood to my TR won't remain up - currently, I'm propping it up when open.

I was looking at those struts, and at the parts manual, but I just don't see an easy way to replace them.

Is it necessary to remove the riveted on bottom shields to service this item, or is there an easier way that I'm just not yet seeing?

    -Thanks!

gabriel -- Don't remove the riveted bottom covers (it really doesn't help anyway).

The LH side you need to remove the turn signal housing.

The RH side you can get to thru the battery access cover (or I guess you could remove the turn signal housing).

Thanks Steve! I'll look at it again when I get home.

    Here goes:

    Turn on the headlights
Turn off the battery power using the black knob(Right side of front trunk)
remove or pull back carpet in front of wheelwell.
(Left)-here you will see 4 10mm screws, remove panel, change strut.
    (Right)-Open battery access door,change strut.

    Good Luck
