I'm glad I don't get HBO anymore. I like the show the first two seasons, then it was okay, then the last season I saw (when the wife was sullen and crass at the end) I decided I did not want to see anymore. I liked when they chased other thugs through the park in a caddy, or other fun things like that. This drawn out family therapy and illness sounds boring!

Its coming down where it will either be Phil or Tony. I don't trust Carmine he seems to be setting Tony up for a big fall.

    You just might be right.

Little Carmine is a pus sy.

Good luck to HBO getting people to watch reruns if that's how it ends.

I doubt if Tony will get wacked in the final episode. The reason is there is such a big demand for the show, And HBO just loves to make movies. I can see a few Soprano movies being made, just like they did with the X-files.

I read somewhere that David Chase is a fan of Greek Tragedy. Last night's
episode certainly had subtle undertones of one.

Melfi's therapist was saying that someone like Tony could do "talk therapy" up the wazoo and it wouldn't do a damn thing for him. In a depressing way, he's right, it seems AJ is destined for misery, jail and/or death, no matter what his parents do or provide for him (remember Carmela bringing up the Soprano curse).

Meadow really brought it home though too. If after all her education, rejection of the family business, white glove lunches with her Mom, she ends up with the son of Tony's henchman Patsy Parisi, that would be like the Gods laughing in Tony's face (how about Patsy talking about possible grandchildren, LOL).

Often the lesson of Greek Tragedy was that one's future is pre-destined by the Gods and despite your best efforts, you will not change the outcome.
All of Tony's therapy, providing the trappings of wealth, good schools and a suburban life for his kids could be all for naught. He's doomed.

There is a reason for that. Chase originally wanted to do a movie, but HBO convinced him to do a TV show, so he said he'd do a season and that's it. They convinced him to do another season, then another, and another. Now we are seeing it's end, finally. Chase has had to drag this show out for 6 seasons. Blame the suits.

Chase said he'd do a movie if someone handed him a really really good script. Right now, it's not in the cards though. You're watching his original "movie" :)

Maybe that's the underlying theme of the show, that no matter what happens, or what choices you make, you have a certain pre-determined destiny that must be fulfilled. I know the most of it has been to deal with one mans struggle between good and bad, his family and his friends/etc.

Remember Patsy is a rat. How ironic would that be, if his daughter hooked up with the son of a rat?

    You can say that again.

I liked the blue comet. The action is great and Tony and the boys are on the ropes. I hated to see Sil shoot.

What do you think is going to happen to Paulie? He's a survivor...

I'd like to see Phil get hit but it looks like nothing but tragedy for Tony.

I'd like to know what the deal is with the white shoes. I've read that Johnny Soprano wore white shoes but I don't know if they've been putting it in the last shows for a particular reason. Paulie wears them and they made a point of showing all of his, last night had a bunch of white shoes in it.

That would be wild, an old west style shootout :D

The white shoes meaning has been debated a lot. Some think it means something pure, something good. Maybe it means Pauly won't get hit. He was playing both sides of the fence though, so he might get left off.

    Look into the orange :)
