LashSS &I were thinking about doing a quick drive Sunday morning from Holy Doughnut, and then watching the rebroadcast of the f1 race at Laurel Hooters at noon. (like we did last time)

Hooters will be having a bike show at the same time, but the Manager assured me that we would have good parking, and our usual great treatment.

Anyone care to join us? Worked out GREAT last time.

Hoot at me if you're interested.

    Sure.

I know. Every time you are in my car I have to replace the alternator belt. And tonight I'm putting a new battery in the TR! (no I'm not kidding).

I guess my car hates electricity for some reason!

While you PA guys are bangin'/lubin' each other, we'll plan on a 60 min rally on our way to Hooters.

Remember to bring your FRS radios this time too!

no i wish.... I need to have it retested... they go back to 1977. Oh and they will test you... even if it's just an idle test... they do not need to put your car on the rollers to do that...

Get the waiver!!! Your car is over 20 yrs old. Unless something has changed since 2005, you're eligible for historic registration.

this sounds great in theory... where do I get supporting documentation from the manufacturer that states 1) they made 1000 or less for the model year or 2) they no longer make this particular model?

FNA? Has anyone else done this with a 308 locally that would have insight?

Not true---must be 25 years old or older has always been 25 years....If it is that old you will not even get a emissions form.

Actually... it's 20-24 years but certain criteria have to be met first. There are three different scenarios. The first is the 25 year old scenario, no other criteria. The second (20-24 years) has 4 criteria, the most important being that the manufacturer made 1000 or fewer models for that year. The third (20-24 years) also has 4 criteria with the most important being that the make is no longer produced as verified by the manufacturer. All criteria in each scenario must be met before you can get it through the historic registration process.

BTW, I know you had yours done last year when you bought the car but I went to two different stations and got the same lousy attitude. I had mine done in Columbia in 2004 with the same result as you and dealt with a very cool older guy who has since retired... the person who took over his job was a jackass to but it kindly!
