I just agreed to buy a beautiful 95 355s, pending a PPI. Some of you may remember last year I had a deposig on a 99 F1 in Rosso Fiorano but the PPI showed it needed a lot of minor things besides a major. This one, I hope, works out better.

At some point, you'll want to update the power steering reservoir. The tops have a habit of ejecting! I replaced mine before it had a chance to escape. Other have stories of power steering fluid ending up everywhere. It's the one in the middle with the lid the size of the palm of your hand. If you look at photos of people's motors, you'll rarely see any with that reservoir anymore.

That is a beautiful combination. I get a lot of comments about how people never imagined the car in blue with my Swaters Blue spider. Best of luck, I'm itching to get mine out in Chicago today.

    Is it TdF?

It is actually Blu Swaters, though the photos make it look a little bluer. I hope to have it by 1st week in May. Needs to have the fuel distributor recall done and then a PPI.

Funny thing is, when I started my search 3 years ago I saw a similar car down in Florida (at Domani Motors) but with curio interior. The car had no documentation but I was able to trace it back to being sold at an auction a year earlier (Barrett Jackson I believe). It needed a full major and I was still to naive abut 355's so I passed. Then I found another similar car on Long Island. Price was high and no records. had sat for years. Passed. Then last spring I found another similar car in Huntington New York. It looked good, but it was February so I figured I'd wait until end of March before looking into it. After all, who buys a Ferrari in New England in February? Apparently someone did. And they actually posted here about it, mentioning some problems with the engine after the sale. (I recall the outcome was to just drive it till it had to be fixed). So I missed it, but maybe for the best. So, when I saw this I jumped. I was early with this one. It's currently still in the shop having the top end rebuilt. I've been in the loop all the way. Heads just came back. All new guides, all new valves, all new tappets. Bottom end is tight and was leak tested w/o the heads and checked out. All in all I'm glad I had the persistence to wait and didn't get impatient and pull the trigger on that 99 F1 is Rosso Fiorano last year. I only have one problem. I got so disgusted with the search last year I when out and bought an 07 Boxster.

I love Swaters Blue. I know all the love is for TdF, but given the choice, I'll take Swaters all day long.

I love the Swaters in bright sunlight. That slight metallic and color-shifting effect is cool and something a bit unusual on a Ferrari.

Best of luck with the wait and the new top end.

Na, no stomach knots. Car should be back together by the end of the week. Then off to the F local F-dealer for the fuel distributor recall and PPI. I'll be off on vacation. When I get back I guess the car will show up someday. Then I have to figure out where to put it. :)
