My son (9 year old) wants to go to Lamborghini of Chicago next week for our day out together. We visited them when they were Fox Valley Motorcars in West Chicago and they were very nice. My question is, will be allowed to get in and look around the new place in Westmont? Also, I'm sure he will want to take pictures of the cars. Will this be an issue? He's a very respectful kid and knows the proper way to act in a dealer like this so I'm not worried about him running around pulling handles or jumping in cars! I just don't want to drive out from Geneva and get turned away. I actually do want to check out a 911 they have for sale anyway. Thanks for any help with this! Neil

I've had my kids (about the age of yours) in there with me a couple of times without any concerns. Scott Rothermel (Sales Manager) and the rest of the staff are very welcoming and gracious folks. You should have a nice time, and don't forget to go upstairs.

If you want to check the 911, call them and tell them you will be driving to check it out so that the car isnt parked all the way in the back upstairs. Last time i was there, they were very friendly and i took a few pics.

    Good luck !

Also - If you want to check out any other Porsche's - go to the Porsche dealer next door and ask for Rick xxxx. Neil - I'm sure Rick will be happy to show you and your son around their newly remodeled dealership.

Thanks Joe! Do you happen to know the name of the dealership? I'm looking for a '00 to '05 911 and would like to check their inventory online if possible. Neil

Thanks everyone for the help! Looks like we're in for quite the field trip!! I haven't been in the area since I was 16 or 17 and used to go out to see the AMG shop on Ogden Avenue. His 6 year old sister is going with Mom to American Girl, so this is our guy's day out together next Wednesday. Neil

You will not get turned away. I am great friends with all of them and I have never seen anyone turned away or mistreated. You definitely have nothing to worry about. Enjoy the trip with your son!

Well, we just got back from our day at the Exotics. I figured I would close out the thread with some pics since you guys helped me get there. What a day for getting out! First we stopped at Lamborghini and we were greeted by a Superveloce! We could have turned around and went home and my son would have been thrilled! The showroom (yes, we made it upstairs!!) was filled with everything to make a 9 year old (and a soon to be 40 year old) boy's day. They also had a Porsche Carrera GT which I've never seen in person. A big thanks to Anthony Nuccio for setting up my test drive in the 911 I've been trying to talk my wife into! Also, we had the pleasure to meet Carla in her green BADBUL Murcie! My son thought it was great that a "real" Lamborghini owner was so nice! Next we stopped next door at Napleton Porsche where we met Rick Schneider. Thanks Rick for showing us around and letting both kids ;) sit in the GT3. Rick, you have my card. Call me if you ever want a tour of my work with your little boy. Lastly, we stopped in at Continental Autosports where are jaws dropped at what was inside. My son had asked if they would have an Enzo and I had told him that wouldn't. As we walked into the downstairs showroom, there sat the Enzo, the F40, a couple of Testarossas, and a 288 GTO (being detailed)!! Needless to say, we had a great time on our guy's day out! All of the dealers were very friendly and helpful and made our day special. Here's a couple shots of the highlights:

So Neil, what came of your pursuit of the 911? Wife going along with it? What happened to you wanting a Mustang? Oh, and if you do get a 911, will your son become a Porsche fan, or is he already?

I myself have always been a fan of Porsche, probably because of my uncle. While his is a basic 944, I've always loved that car. Got to ride in the "back seat" of it when I was 10(?) all the way down to St Louis, and even then I was cramped back there, but loved every minute of it

I decided against the Mustang simply because I would rather have a very cool used car than a hoh hum new one. We've decided to wait until May for the Porsche, however. I'm still looking for an '02 and up 911, but unless something comes up that's too good to pass up, I'm just teasing myself!

My boy is basically an Exotic major with a minor in Lamborghinis!
