    Hello all,

    When I press the horn button of my car, I just hear a "click" from the back but no sound. What could be wrong? Is it possible, that this is a maintenance issue, since the horn compressor has to be lubricated occasionally according to the owners manual?

    Sounds like the horn compressor, if lubricating doesn't work remove the compressor and remove the top (three screws) clean the vanes and the inner body and it should be okay.

    Also hold the button down for a while. Mine will slowly build air up and finally start working again.

    I seem to remember a "vaccum" line on the compressor that got crushed on mine that caused mine to do the same thing. Make sure that isn't obstructed

    The click you hear is likely the relay in the dash. That means the button and relay work. Pull the wire from the horn air pump itself and see if you have power to the horn. If you do, just take it apart and lube it. It's just an air pump. Be sure to put the three vanes back in the way they came out so the wear pattern matches up and the thing doesn't leak.

    If you have no power to the horn, start looking at the fusebox for power to the horn circuit, follow it to the relay, and the rest of the way. Something is flaky in the current path. Keep in mind that one fuse provides power to activate the relay, and another provides current to pass through the relay to the horn, so there are two potential fuses that can affect the horn operation. (Assuming the QV circuits are similar to the carb ones).

    If all else fails, drive down to your local Harbor Freight Tool Company. They have the EXACT (and I mean EXACT) Fiamm horn compressor (with horns, too!) for 15 bucks or less. If you buy it from your local Ferrari store, that same compressor will run you well north of a $100 bill.

    Ahhhh, if we could only get ALL of our Ferrari parts from Harbor Freight!

    i replaced all the horn stuff on both of my 308's this way, it worked perfect!
