One of my winter projects is to address the horns not working correctly. Well, they work, but only for a few seconds and then the fuse blows. So does anyone have some words of wisdom before I tear them out and bench test them? I oiled the compressor a year or two ago and were working fine.

Is the fuse the correct rating for the horn circuit? If so, I'd surmise the compressor is drawing more current than it should. I don't know anything about how the compressor works, but maybe the oil has thickened and is making parts sticky.

Try to lubricate the horn air compressor because if it builds resistance, it will blow fuse

Thanks Mike and Dave. I was thinking the same thing and will check out the compressor. We got a break in the weather, so today's chore is to take the car out and verify speedometer readings with GPS before I ship the speedometer and pulse generator to Palo Alto for re-calibration. It's always something.
