I wanted to post this to ensure that no one experiences what I have with this company JK Auto Upholstery, selling their boots and tops on eBay, link below.

Ferrari Mondial Leather Boot 1984 1994 | eBay

I contacted them through eBay to ask about colors of the boots and we finally settled on what they said was the correct color for my beige interior. Seller offered that if we did the transaction outside of eBay then they would do a $25 discount over paypal, which I foolishly accepted.

After three weeks the boot finally arrives, but it is in the wrong color. I figure that I can live with the color variance and have it fitted but when I do I notice that it doesn't even fit! I immediately contacted them and Anna offered to take it back and make me another boot. I shipped it back to her via FedEx with signature delivery. They received it and she said they would make me a replacement but asked if I would send my original so they could be sure to get the dimensions correct, which I declined as I was afraid it could be lost or damaged and then I would really be up a creek, so to speak. She said that the material had come in, and they were ready to make another but then went radio silent. Over a month went by of my emails, eBay messages, phone calls, etc going unanswered when I finally decided to file a claim on PayPal.

Seller acknowledged in the PayPal correspondence that they had received it back and I posted the return tracking number. However, for some reason PayPal decided against me even though they have both the boot and my money, having acknowledged that they had accepted/received the return!

In any event, I will file with my credit card and likely get my money back but I wanted to make sure that everyone knew that JK Auto Upholstery are crooks and do NOT order anything from them.

I posted this in the mondial section but given that they make 348/355 boots, seat covers, etc I wanted to share it here as well.

Thanks for that bit of info, I almost bought new seat covers from the Josephina people in CA last year when they wanted $1200, they upped their price to around $1800. Glad I waited.
There is another supplier in one of the Ferrari monthly let's I get, can't remember their name. New boot covers for less than a grand.

Cabrioworld.com has ads in one of the news letters, anybody order from them ?

Careful who you call a crook. Looks to me like she offered to re-do the work but is waiting for a pattern to get size and color right.

    Seems reasonable to me.

How is that they have a 100% positive ebay rating (no negatives)? Looks like 31 positives.

And then she replied on Paypal that it was made correctly and that I butchered the install of the snaps when a reputable upholstery shop did the install. She also didn't mention this until the claim was filed over a month after the boot was shipped back.

She would also not reply to my emails for over a month, which is why I filed the claim.

Currently, she has been ignoring my emails for over a month, has my money (paid July 5th), and has the original boot returned to her (which she verified and acknowledged in our emails and the response on the PayPal dispute).

I wish I had your experience, so far I have paid for a boot and have nothing to show for it.

One thread per topic, please. If the topic's not specific to a particular model, then please post it here in the "not model specific" forum instead of reposting it in multiple model-specific forums. Thank you.

Oh, and if you go to your CC company and file a claim against paypal, they will freeze your account and eventually ban it from use.

And if you're wondering how I know this, it's simple. I had a $1500 transaction go bad a few years ago on PayPal. They refunded me $300, the seller had managed to grab the rest of the funds out of his paypal account before I could get it back. I *****ed, paypal ignored me. I called the CC company, they refunded me in full, pinged paypal for it, and paypal killed my account, forever.

Not a huge big deal, you just open a new one with a different credit card and email address, but be aware of the consequences of screwing with PayPal once they've made a decision that goes against you.

I was going to order my boot through them on their ebay site and decided to go with RichandFamous, glad I did, even had a small issue with them which they corrected, to me you can't go wrong with RichandFamous.

Not really. He ordered the first time under the impression they had a product that fit. Which apparently isnt the case. If he is going to be the guinea pig then he should get a discount. Then it would be reasonable.

They botched a cover for a 355 top. First they said they would redo it. Weeks past and no word from them. They they said they would pay an upholstery shop to fix it but they never sent the check and never returned phone calls. Huge waste of time and a waste of money.

Good news, I called paypal and sorted the issue out.

From my description, they misunderstood and thought that it was a custom item (like a suit), which is why they denied the claim. I called and explained that it fit all Ferrari Mondial's from 1984-1992 and sent them the link to prove it. They figured it out and refunded the money immediately.

    What A** H***'*!

Oh well, now all is right in the world
