They've made a small peep but I can't believe they didn't just give the guy his 2 grand back to be rid of him. Is this preferable? Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
I dont know if you are heading in that direction, but I'm not so convinced the OP truly lived up to his side of the story
I just will never understand that kind of attitude. "I'm sorry for any misunderstandings. We will refund the deposit immediately and I hope we can possibly help you in the future." THAT would have generated far and away a considerable amount of good will in our community. ...even if they were 100% right and the buyer was 100% wrong. But that is just my opinion and how I would have handled it.
Yes, this thread could have ended at post #13 with the above words. Otherwise, it keeps growing like a weed.
So you're keeping the deposit because the guy didn't come to see it, but discovered it wasn't as presented anyway? That isn't legal in TX best I can tell. All the BS about wheels, etc. is irrelevant. That's trying to make it as represented. If you have another real buyer, and are keeping the deposit, that seems to be breach of contract with the OP. Doesn't matter if he saw it or not. Seeing it on internet and finding problems substantively the same as seeing it in person, at least for cosmetic stuff. So, OP could stop your other deal. Do ya feel lucky, sparky? After seeing the fright pig 308/288 POS Mel Spillman had that you guys did, you couldn't pay me to haul this POS away from your shop.
So, if he came to see the car and then told you he didn't want it, then he would get his deposit back? Really?
I still cannot understand why Norwood didn't post anything here and is not trying to fix it. Is he aware of what is going on FerrariChat ? Did someone reported him the issue, is he informed about this thread ? Or is he so self-confident / arrogant that he just doesn't care. All this doesn't make really sense.
So what. Why bother to witness what he already knows? I do find it remarkable that Mr. Norwood, who to my knowledge had(note tense) at least a decent reputation HERE AMONG HIS TARGET AUDIENCE, would have the unmitigated gall to keep the man's money and then proceed to fall on his sword over the issue. Could this simply be your own personal pissing match with the buyer because YOU felt slighted when called out about misrepresentations? Or that he has wasted YOUR precious time?
I dont know the guy so I could be of base, but it does appear that the latter seems to be true. I know a lot of successful people with that attitude and in the past, when i was really young and successful i was guilty of it as well.
Wow I truly hoped the Norwood camp would see the light and offer the original deal at 110K with real wheels while laying to rest all concerns of originality of the panels and frame structures etc in a calm manner so we could close the deal and I would start my dream build. Worst case I thought the Norwood camp would apologize after realizing how UN professional this all was of them and return the deposit to just call it a day. Now that we are 8 pages deep I want to say THANK YOU to everyone that has posted on this thread for your support and positive or negative opinions from all perspectives! This thread is an example of what makes Ferrari Chat Great!
Or would you have just claimed -- in person -- that the "original knock off wheels" only applied to the knock-off themselves, and the pile of parts including the repro wheels was indeed "as represented"? Because that's the official stance you took just a day or so ago on here. If the original poster deputized someone to do the inspection, and that person decided the car was not as represented, would you return the $2000?
Lots of drama and suspense, and all this over a kit car? Good luck. I hope this ends well for all parties involved. Sent by itsy bitsy electrons
I think you have hundreds of people supporting you and standing behind you, for the simple reason we are a community - and also buyers of Ferrari cars. What you are actually living could happen to all of us one day or another. We wish you all get your refund, Norwood (and potentially others) must know that we - buyers - must be treated fairly and we won't accept unethical behavior whoever the seller can be.
