I admittedly do not spend a great deal of time on this sort of nonsense; however, I overheard a conversation with another real person (who at one point showed up at Exotic Motors with sufficient cash in hand to leave with something) that this forum was being used to impune a good operation and a very good guy. So, I just yesterday signed on to contribute $.02 more than the inceptor of this post has put into Ferrari ownership.

In the last 15 years I have done business with several various high line car dealerships and purchased, traded off, or sold a substantial number of cars. Danny is without exception the best individual I've dealt with.

This seems like a somewhat useful way to inquire into a potential dealer. I hope both potential purchasers and joy riders both take from this exactly what you can expect from Danny's outfit.

Jwall, no disrespect intended but you just joined the forum (yesterday), you have 2 posts and you said you have had many many exotics and purchased cars from Danny.........You have to understand that this looks rather suspicious to other members. Your profile is not filled out much and you are defending Danny to the fullest, you a friend?

Clearly looks like Danny said...."Hey buddy, go on Fchat and help me out here.....This guy is really making me look bad......Post a comment about me and make me look good..." Why doesn't Danny just get on here and say his story and get on with it already.....

I really dont care either way and I'm not trying to stir drama but every time a dealer has an issue with a client somehow new members appear out of the blue. Most peoples first posts are individuals seeking advice on a Ferrari to purchase. In many cases first posts are pics and a description of the Ferrari purchase itself, not coming on and defending a dealer, kinda strange, just saying.....

I guess the accounts receivable department must have finally gotten that call? :D

Guys, if you check back on the OP's posting history I think you'll see that he's probably a genuine guy looking for a car. He's been in the hunt for a while and has looked at a few but that's not a crime. Many of us wave our dangly bits around and post about our ability to buy blind but let's not criticise someone to whom circa $180k is a SERIOUSLY big deal.

There is nothing suspicious about J Wall's data, other than that he is in the correct region to be a customer of EMM.

I am in St. Louis Missouri. I have a home in and am a legal resident of Palmer, Alaska which has certain benefits. I'm not exactly hiding my name here and I am not a difficult person to look up. Anyone who resides in the area is well aware I am a frequent car buyer.

People really go through the effort of driving 6 hours just to test drive a car?
MAybe we are spoiled here in Los Angeles where you can get to an exotic dealer for a test drive in about 20 minutes.

I am not taking sides, just amazed on the effort, buyer or not :)

Don't look at as driving 6 hours, look at it saving hundreds of dollars -

Here is NJ - the rental of a ferrari for 15 miles is $300+$30+7%+$5. For 50 miles, you're looking at $659+$55+7%+$5. Split the diffence for his 30 mile ride and figure what he saved.

    http://gtdreamcars.com/ferrari_fleet.html

Again, on a 30,000 mile car, 30 miles is nothing - on a sub 4,000 mile car it's excessive, especially when it wasn't the color wanted.

WOW! 1 hour, 15 miles for $299. Makes me want to rent mine....just kidding.....I hope the OP has better things to do than drive 6 hours to drive a car 20 miles, but you never know...

I still think the OP is legitimate, he just didnt do his homework before he drove all the way to the dealer. When for a second time he didnt pull the trigger and bailed over the color, owner got irritated and felt the guy was waisting his time. Though the owner should not have gone to the extremes he did, now almost 7000 people have clicked on this thread and may feel that Exotic Motors Midwest is a shaky place......With social media these days business owners need to be careful how they treat people. Word gets out, FAST!

I would like to share these two images to back up Mr. Wall's posts. These were both taken at Exotic Motors Midwest recently. I blacked out the letters for privacy purposes. (Mr. Wall - hope you don't mind me posting these..I briefly met you at the EMM Grand Opening). He has had many incredible cars, so hopefully this alleviates any doubt in his posts.

In regards to EMM - I worked for Danny in the past making inventory videos of the cars and helping out with photos. He, along with the other employees, treated me with nothing but respect. I watched interact with his clients and he was always extremely honest and very kind. I know various people who have purchased from Danny, and they are all extremely happy with their vehicles. I truly hope that this thread will not deter anybody in the future from looking at EMM for their next deal.

Hey cupcake- Actually, I crap lucky charms and I don't fart... ever. As you said - Mr. Perfect.

Maybe Baker figured since I left a more valuable car at his dealership I wasn't just joy riding his SLR. Maybe my reputation as a capable and impulsive buyer beat me to his door. Either way, he seemed to manage to determine that he would come out getting some real business from me.

Looks like my 560 and Aventador have been outed.

Here is a little more candy to up my "lack of posting chops"

So what is the message of the day...

Clearly, we all need to establish a residence and tag all vehicles in Alaska! There is obviously an advantage!

Ahh so the truth comes out. Congrats. A true gentleman.

Now you can go back to belittling us measly two supercar owners and aspiring owners. For not leaving 500k deposits while we test drive a car for the evening.

About $260 in sales tax whether a 55 VW or a 458. No inspections so no explaining straight pipes to the Prius pushers.

Not interested in belittling anyone Mash. I don't have an issue with anyone wanting to test drive a car. I've test driven myself by admission. What is irritating is someone slamming a very good dealer in open forum because they feel entitled to take one on their terms. I've had several dealers compete for my business over the years and Danny has delivered very well. Give Exotic Midwest a shot when you decide to buy super car no. 3 I don't think you'll leave unsatisfied.

No issues with them at all. And they are much closer than Dallas for sure.

Your first statement about taking an SLR home on your first drop by wasn't exactly the whole enchilada. I actually have spoken to, not met, the OP and know he's been looking for a Scud for over 6 months. Can't vouch for his credibility in any other way than that.

And I have a large amount of my family in Moose Pass. You know where that is?

I dont often post on here but after reading all 8 pages of this thread I think the OP is an arrogant di*k. Please follow my logic....
I dont personally know Danny but a friend of mine who is a local well known automobile dealer and one of the biggest perfectionist you would ever meet had nothing but praise for Danny and his staff.

    Consider this:
In the state of Missouri automobile dealerships are ALL closed for business, so a salesperson that likely has a family takes his day off to come and show the car to an out of town potential customer knowing already that he cannot deliver the car that day, in an effort to properly accomidate.

If you are an auto dealer of any kind, but particularlly one specializing in very expensive and volitile inventory- every time a vehicle is driven anywhere while the dealer owns it the dealer is putting exposure on a vehicle and a potential major risk. If someone comes in and test drives a late model high-end no previous paintwork car and a happens to scrape a driveway or parking lot or anything the dealer now has a car they have to paint on which many times goes on a carfax and lowers the market value of an already fickle car. Even if the carfax is clean any good dealer will disclose to their potential client that they touched up a bumper or whatever. Stuff like this happens very often.

The OP wanted to "re-test drive" a car that I would bet hadn't been driven 3 miles since his last test drive....on a car he is already admitting isn't what he wants. Why drive it then?

Danny is on the hook for the car, and properly representing it weather the person that inflicts the damage to it buys it or not. I fully understand his cautiousness as every mile a vehicle racks up- damage or not....makes the car less competitive in the market.

We have no idea what the orig. poster was like during his phone conversations but he seems a bit unpleasent and pretentious on here. My exprience tells me that he likely called the dealer a bunch of times over and over and wanted to be treated like he was purchasing a new Bugatti...all while to come to town on the one day a week the dealership is closed. What I know of high end purchasers of exotics are there are 2 types: Super arrogant and expect way more then they deserve and have little respect for other peoples time which is clear in this case.....OR the great majority of exotic purchasers people who are simply in love with automobiles, those people are always down to earth and a pleasure to deal with.

Just my thoughts, but something most people do not realize about the other side of the coin.

    You solved the caper Sherlock!

Danny bought an Aventador and had Lamborghini add the flux capacitor option for time travel. (Time travel requires vertical doors and either a carbon fiber or stainless body)

Then, I (his phone girl) went back in time to purchase a house in Alaska, buy $2MM or so worth of cars, title and tag them in Alaska, steal this Wall guy's identity, go racing around St. Louis for 5 or 6 years in those cars with Alaska tags to create a reputation, and take pictures of them to post on this site so I could defend my sweet Danny's abberant behavior.

Good thing for being able to manuver through the space time continum, I managed to get this done in only a couple of days and get back in time to get these entries made.

You can keep up the Devil's advocate work, but I'd suggest a withdrawl of the mensa application.

    Twin flux capacitors.... fluxing

Yes, I've fished near Moose Pass, beautiful spot! My place is on the other side of Anchorage a couple of hours north-east in the Mat-Su where the fish aren't nearly as good.

If your family is willing, I would highly suggest you do an Alaska LLC at their place and title your toy cars there. If you need a gouge on putting this together send me an email and I'll pass the information along.
