https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-germancars/bmw-m-unveils-standalone-750hp-xm/44998 has to be the worst looking car i've seen in a long time
I’m more interested in a treatise on the tribal dancers. Was one from another warring tribe and they met up to show off their newest technological breakthrough: a performance crossover? And then it seemed the relationship evolved into one of admiration or dare I say even love. Yes, please find the choreographer and dancers so that we may learn more of this fascinating story.
When the link opened and I saw it I literally cringed/shuddered. Unbelievable. BMW has totally abandoned its traditional assertion of being the ultimate driving machine.
Well... I wasn't expecting that on the link. I'll give it some benefit of the doubt that it will look better in person. The video though, I'm not sure what I just witnessed, and if anything it's marketing me not to want to buy it. Why would one market an M vehicle for enthusiasts with interpretive modern dance???
The car is absolute garbage but that video/performance is even worse. You can tell it was produced/directed by some perpetually offended minority diversity board.
1. Car is objectively ugly 2. Car is even uglier when you consider it's a BMW M. 3. Car is even uglier still when you watch that garbage performance. Im done with BMW. Glad i sold both back in may.
Who knows what’s going on in the minds of people anymore? Someone should just them ask what their motivation is.
the chinese market likes a big grill the bmw grills already look horrific imo as they are too big I thought this was an april fools joke for a split second, some kind of self parody but it's real and it's an insight on the future styling of bmw cars I moved away from the brand a few years ago to mercedes - having been an extremely good customer for a long time
Won't affect sales. Unfortunately the proportion of the population with any aesthetic sense whatsoever is too small to materially affect the automobile market.
I thought It could get no worse after some of Chris Bangle’s abominations, but I have to admit I was wrong. so very very WRONG…
Unfortunately... I think you're right. I remember the classy BMW Films with Clive Owen and elegant cars. How steep the decline.
'cause those new Chinese design studios have to work overtime to catch up! Lookin' at you Lexus, and all the rest of the copycats......
I am not so sure. Maybe the older generation but for the younger generation and all the other people buying NIO, Tesla, Xpeng, etc the lack of a distinctive grille does not seem to be negative factor. I think the BMW management/marketing/designers/leadership in general is just out of touch. I hate to use the word boomer but they really do seem to be BoomerMW.
Could just be lack of imagination. The exaggerated grille took a legitimately clever styling cue and beat it into the ground. Also, no one seems able to draw a nice curve anymore, other than Ferrari, Porsche, and Aston Martin.
