The guys at Horseless are good people. They get the job done. I work with Horseless for the Challenge races, they haul new stock from Jersey for us. They helped me out of a bind back in December when I tried to use another carrier. Call Frank and he will hook you up. He's a little direct, but never had a car damaged and they haul A LOT of product for FNA. Hope that helps.
They are very good. I used them to transport a CGT cross country. The driver really cared about the cars he carried (he had several), and actually stayed several nights in one city to wait out a snow storm in the next state. I have used them many many times over the years...great drivers with ultra high end experience and good equipment...one of the best if not the best enclosed shippers in the US..
I have also used them several times including my stradale from southern california as well as my chopper from Oklahoma. Good people especially Amos, never had a mark on anything...
I used them for our QV back in September. They had a better price than 2 other I had checked with and were quite nice to deal with. They provided me the mobile phone of the driver so I could get direct progress updates. Jeff Image Unavailable, Please Login
IMO they're are a lot of good one's out there these days.(the crap economy has weeded a lot of the bad) So it really is a matter of price, pickup time and delivery plus feedback of course.
I've used several (not Horseless, though) and the best I ever used was Intercity. Like others have said, there are several really good ones, check and compare them for price and pickup/delivery times. I would have not had a problem using HC based on what I've read about them, but when I had my last one shipped, Intercity had a MUCH better price (30% less) and their pickup and deliver times were much quicker.
Used them many times. They hauled all the new cars for us at FoDallas. I believe you would like them. Never had any damage that I know of.
We used them based on the recommendation of the Ferrari salesman who sold us the car. The Mondial arrived on schedule and in perfect condition. Dave Image Unavailable, Please Login
Agree with all above. They shipped my 328 from CA to FL, no problems at all. Next time I need to ship a car, I would have no hesitation going with them again.
A friend of mine sold an S-Class that was shipped via Horseless Carriage, and we chatted with the driver as he loaded the car. Very pleasant and obviously experienced with high end cars. He discussed in passing the time and money the company spent on maintaining the trailers. Handled the car as one would expect from a real pro -- perfectly and like second nature. There were two new Californias in the trailer, too.
What is the reason you think this is a waste of a post? In my opinion, it is a very valid subject, somebody who is transporting their Ferrari has every right to seek out a transportation company that will best take care of his vehicle, and that goes for transporting any type of vehicle.
I posted here earlier about using a transporter that only owned their trailers and subed out the driver/tractor. Horseless carriage owns the tractor and the trailer and hire great drivers to load and drive. This is the only way you have total control. Read my post about the lost/stolen 1911 buick from Conn to Seattle and you will see why you need to use Horseless Carriage Transport. They are the most used and prefered transporter at Hershey and have been for over 30 years. Howard Musolf 1981 308gtsi Maserati spyder to many brass era cars
well, done deal - the car is now somewhere in horseless land - in between here and there - I did request that they call me when it was picked up, and that did not happen - the only communication so far has been me calling them, and talking to one of the dispatchers - marge and lori.
Same as the above... Car is about to go into Horseless land and so far Im not impressed, sorry to say. Im thinking I should have used Thomas Sunday, who also came highly recommended, but was too late in letting me know if they had availability (I had already said ok to Horseless) With Thomas Sunday, they actually have profiles of their drivers on the website. I probably should have realized that unless it is that explicitly stated, you can't trust that they aren't just using contract drivers. From what I can tell, they definitely are not "staff" drivers. There has been a lot of confusion so far and it sounds very much to me like this driver is on contract. The seller and I are both pretty nervous, to be honest, and surprised after the awesome recommendation these guys get on F-Chat, Rennlist, VCA, Corvette Forum, etc etc. My fingers will stay crossed
geez - same thing here - they picked up the car on wednesday, a day or 2 ahead of schedule, I called them yesterday to get the driver info, and after some confusion, they figured out that it is still in NJ - so, they have had the car for 6 days now, and it is no closer to me now than when they picked it up. uggghhhh. I guess I will call around a bit more next time and see who can get it here faster. Paul
so they picked up the car wednesday of last week - I called the driver yesterday, no answer, he called me back after about 30 min. He said he had just left town ... I am like what town? - one close to me?, but no, it was his town, as in NJ - so now after 9 days the car is finally just now starting to head this direction. I really thought that horseless would be different than my other trucking experiences over the years, but nope .... not so far -
Did you ask them, when you hired them, how long it would take to get your car? You didn't pay them to haul an empty trailer did you? They wait for a full truck, I would guess, before hauling their loads. Diesel is expensive after all. DM
