Blazing Saddles is always the example I use when discussing the politically correct society of today. They would have to rewrite the entire thing to keep from getting protested.

"Sir, I heard you specifically request two African-Americans. Well, to tell a family secret, my grandmother was Dutch"

"I hired you fellas to get a little track laid, not dance around like a bunch of Kansas City homosexuals"

"Dock that Asian a day's pay for napping on the job."



Actually, now that I think about it, a remake with such stupid dialogue would be more of a satire of our culture today than race relations in 1974.

 

Nothing more than a bit of light entertainment at best. All my mates and I sat down to watch it and we all laughed hysterically. Especially the bit with the eye and the mustard.
Might be a bit immature but there you go...

 

I have only seen the first one. I thought it was ok. BUT..do watch the making of the movie bonus footage, it is better than the actual film.

 

When I went to see the first one with friends, one kid came with us (whom I personally can't stand b/c he's an ignore immature ...) anyway, he was laughing the whole time.

There were a few kids sitting in front of us that we actually graduated high school with. When the movie was over, one of them stood up, looked at us and asked "Which one of you sick fu@ks was laughing?"

We all just stood there and looked at the one kid.

 

#1 was ok, #2 sucked imo. Just seemed to be predictable and lacking. #1 was no great masterpiece, take it or leave it, rented it and I suppose for $3 it was good value.
