Is it normal to have hot air coming from the handbrake ashtray saddle area? The faster the car travel the more hot air gets in. Is it the air that’s passing thru the radiator? or is it the coolant hose inside the saddle? Thanks for any advice

Is air blowing in around the accelerator pedal?
I'd check all the wheel well guards are installed, and the undertray is sealed tight (particularly at the front edge) and none of the hatches underneath are off.
There was yellow packing around the tunnel openings under the consoles so you could unscrew the console sections and push some more foam packing around the handbrake etc.

I had the same problem with one of my Dinos....
If you open the window it gets even worse... like a hot fan blowing....
With my Dino the underbody panel wasn`t sealed correctly....
After closing all holes and gaps the problem was solved.

Matthias, is there something for the underbody panel to seal it correctly,
    or just rivets?

Or are you meaning that before you apply the panel, you seal all beneath it?

    Regards, Alberto

I just had a full restoration, we had changed all rubber seal of the spare tire tub and installed new underbody panels. Hot air used to come from the clutch and brake pedal holes before the restoration, now it is mainly from under the handbrake. I will try first to deal with the tunnel cover, hopefully no need to open the underbody trays.

just rivets, but don`t leave any gaps open especially in the front and back
put flexible body sealing between panel and frame

When they performed the restoration did they remove the fiberglas wool from between the tunnel spine and the floorboards?
Might want to remove the gear shift console and have a look as this important and purposeful insulation.

OK, we have stuffed up all the holes in the tunnel and sealed up the under body panels. It’s a hot summer morning and I went for a test drive on the highway, My cabin still gets very warm after half hour driving. The ashtray got really hot, almost as hot as the engine hood. The shift stick and gate also got quite hot. Basically all the expose metal in that area are hot, I can feel that heat radiation on my face. Is this normal?
