Idon´t se so many cars on the market like in the begining of 2016. Is it a good or a bad sign? what are you guys thinking about this? Personaly i think that the future is very bright for the car.
I expect the prices to go slowly further up during the next few month for good 355CHs, ideally street legal ones. No growing in big steps but definitely not going down. I hope they won´t go up too far as I´d be afraid to use my car from a certain value onwards.
Best cars will always be sought after... Only one or two available for sale now have some needs to get people excited at those asking prices. Some are still changing hands privately. I continually get pm's for collectors looking to find one. I help point them in the right direction. I see them continuing to go up and slowly disappearing into private collections... Robb
I agree with Robb they are moving between collectors. Unless you have something interesting to add to the deal hard to get one. Cash is not enough. I know of a big nut stash of 95's here in SoCal mostly very private folks. EDIT You also now may consider into future price Ferrari now opening up a special Challenge series for the older classics to "show race" I call it LOL before the new Ferrari's. Vintage racing series are also accepting them to run. Even at the asking of the green 355 here in SoCal I think you will be safe buying at that price if you hold it a few years
We are looking forward to the new series allowing the cars to run before other racing (i.e. Historics). Who wouldnt want to do that? Robb
I agree with you Robb . Is there such a big difference between a normal 355 car and a 355CH. so great that it can become a High collector car ??? I mean some models of Ferrari has 10 doubled. might this car also one day have such a chance ?. I think the market may cool due to collectors bay them in silence. or am I wrong? PS. If anyone would like to buy my car so he or she must have bigger wallet than Bill Gates or Donald Trump
Good to know about the "Historic" Challenge series. Depending on costs, timing and venues, I can see myself participating with my 355. Although there seemed to have been a fast uptick within the last two years, I think/hope the market going forward is more steady and consistent. I've gotten private inquiries over the last year so I believe there's a steady demand. This bodes favorably for a limited number of cars especially street-registered ones. Personally, I find it hard to pick another car that can take its place in my garage. Perhaps another street-registered 355 Ch with better history like a championship car or a converted GT car with endurance race history. Otherwise, other cars in my list are well into 7+ digits.
I believe they are going to be adding a vintage Challenge pre-race to the the Challenge series next year.
Seriously you nailed that Very very hard to find a replacement from Ferrari. Only thing I can think of is a Porsche race car same era and they are nuts money right now Issue with running the challenge series you need to use a "approved" race team to run under and prep your car. This will make it very expensive for many. In the the end will bring the car costs up also as it will be a more exclusive club to be in. I have most if not all the racing receipts for my black car and car cost itself is least by far EDIT Heck I just think I talked myself out of selling 1 of mine LOL
hi Mclaudio i have street-registered 355 Ch with championship winner in 1995 i am getting the car now for a better shape
Street registered Thats the sexiest thing about that car. I don't even know what was the last Ferrari Race cars that were street legal besides the 348-355 I am registered also but rarely drive it on the street except to test something
Agree that it is sexy. but I think that it gets super hot sexy with all the lap time and lap points and it won the central europian chamionship is not bad. I think the race documents allowed me to fall in love for real.
LOL I agree Mine has a Championship pedigree also. I have no plans on changing or restoring it from last time it raced. Even smells race fresh If that Bill Gates guy wants to make a me an offer I may consider it Comes with bright white custom color factory interior Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I just love those Challenge cars. I got mine since nearly 2 years and it´s getting sexier day by day... Additionally I met the photographer of the US-Challenge series back in the 90s last week at Spa and he supplied me more than 100 pictures of my car, being raced by Milka Duno. What a nice chap, great guy.

Milka was famous for changing her race-suit right within the pits to the joy of most mechanics... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Anyone think that one day they will allow these cars at the Monterey Historics during car week? I've gone as a spectator several times and always walk through the pits and ogle the cars, talk to the mechanics and owners, take tons of pictures. To be asked to bring a car to compete once would be a bucket list thing.
I love historic racing. It is starting to become available for the 348-355 CH. Future is looking like a lot of fun fun fun
They are running a vintage series at Challenge races here in the US. You must use a "official approved " race team to run BS to me as I don't want them touching my cars, NO OFFENSE to them. Many other sanctioning bodies are jumping on the train also. Could be a fun upcoming season to do some traveling.
