Awesome. I’d love to be able to have a garden here - too much shade. I’m guessing deer don’t bother them or peppers in general?

Deer usually leave peepers alone. If your neighbor has a pot belly pig they can't keep in their yard is another story.
    Ask me how I know.:(

So what does pot belly pig taste like? Regular pork?

Similar issue, so we put ours in the front yard! Thus far, none of the old crones from the historic commission have crabbed about it. Raised bed. Keyhole. From Costco.

    https://www.costco.com/Keyhole-6-ft.-x-6-ft.-Composting-Garden-Bed.product.100153345.html

First year with it and thus far we're very satisfied. Everything has done very well - chard, basil, pequin peppers, eggplant, grape tomatoes. Use kitchen vegetable scraps to compost. Plus lawn clippings from back yard, which has never seen pesticides.

No issues with deer, but ours is out front of the house.

Roma is a paste tomato. Does that help in this case?

I like coming with Roma tomatoes.
Romas are usually the cheapest at Kroger. So, I buy the ripest ones I can find the day I need themnand then use them when I make sauce, gravy, soup, chili and such.

Yes, it does. The guy holding the buffer to my car taught me how to make the salsa. Old family recipe.

3554 GTS, don't see many of those. Make it a 6 speed and I might be in love! ;)

I'll see if I can round up the recipes I used when I made mine. It came out looking and tasting a lot like Sambal if you like that. I left it slightly chunky because I like Sambal.....a lot. I had several different pepper plants this year but none did gangbusters. I'm just now getting jalepenos though, need to go back out and check again. I got quite a few Serranos and a few of what were supposed to be Cajun Bell peppers but they weren't very hot at all.

Cholula. I get the large bottle and between the kids and I we seem to go through it in a month. I wish it were a tad spicier though.

Duane...Doesn't Cholula have a habanero flavor? If not, you might want to give Tabasco habanero a try. I like it. For me, it is near the optimal in tolerable heat and good flavor...T

I use Cholula on everything I eat. It is barely a hot sauce but more of a spicy tomato condiment. Tabasco is hot sauce.

I find regular Tabasco hotter than regular Cholula, but it's been a while since I tried the latter. Tabasco is a great way to add a little zip and a little salt w/o overpowering your tastebuds. The Scorpion is IMO their first "miss" - it's too hot w/o enough flavor, again IMO.

I'd really like to try the Diamond Reserve...

That looks good! I’ve not heard of a chocolate pepper, but that has peaked my interest.
    Heatonist, lol catchy....
While this thread is back up, I found a photo on another device recently that had the datils in it.....the backdrop for some rendered lamb tallow I did. I may not have shared it here, or it could be a repeat...I hope you dont mind.

Love the Tabasco flavor, but for hot any sauce it needs habaneros. Chulola is good too for flavor. So many to try! Went to Wegman’s the other day and I got sidetracked and missed their fresh peppers.

Interesting light green color on the datil plant. My pequin pepper plant had much darker leaves...T
