Hi all, Here is my question , Is there any reason that the wires by the fuse box, under the dashboard on the passenger side get really HOT? I smelled something so I investigate and the wires where Hot to the touch, Did anyone experienced this? Peter
I would find out where these wires are going.......and fast!!!!!!! They are hot because something is drawing a LOT of amps.
Something is wrong ... could be at the fusebox connections or somewhere down the line there's poor or corroded contacts ..... this could cause added heat .... the only other thing would be an electrical device that's drawing excess current .... better find the problem quickly ...... or make sure your fire insurance is in force. Could remove fuses one at a time to see which circuit(s) casuing the problem ..... Good luck with your search......
Your car is about to start running funny too. I bet it's the fuel pump. They all do it at some point. Check the archives. This was discussed at length a couple of years ago. It's a really easy fix so don't worry about that part of it.
I would check the fuse holders on the LH end of the left fuse block. Fuel pump and coils come from there. This will leave you stranded, ask me how I know
Also check the white "junction" box under the relays. On mine the contacts where corroded and the box has cooked because of the high resistance. This box uses large spade connectors and all the juice drawn must go trough it.
