Anybody have a line on a couple of rooms in Monterey for the concourso? I will be there after the running of the bulls and need a place for me and a place for my buddy and his wife. Just don't want to stay in the Mariposa or the Steinbeck if possible. Thanks in advance for any help.

"Who wants a NICE room in Monterey for Historics?

I have a room at the Marriott for August 17th-21st. Total cost was $2107. Unfortunately, my company is sending me to Italy on business that week (yeah, bummer, right?)

    Here's how it would work:

You call the hotel and speak to my contact using my confirmation number, change the name on the reservation to yours, and they credit my card back this amount and charge your card the amount.

This is for the Marriott, Pierside/Waterside in the main part of Monterey. Its in the middle of everything, nice room, close to shops, restaurants, with good parking and no steep driveways....exotic friendly.

Email me at [email protected] if you're interested."

Yeah, I saw that over on lambo power. I want his room but the problem is that I need two rooms. Don't have to be in the same hotel but they have to be close to each other.

If your an FCA member, the FCA club might still have rooms available at Casa Munras, but you'd have to book it for 3 nights. Still, at a little over $200/night, it would probably still be cheaper than anything else would be for two nights.

I have a friend who has 1 extra room in Marina (5 minutes north of Monterey on the freeway). Reservation is Aug 18/19/20/21. Rates are $215/$244/$244/$185 respectively. Two double beds, non-smoking room. If no one takes it he needs 72 hours advance to cancel without being charged for first night.

Contact me ASAP if interested and I will put you in touch with him. I have no interest yada, yada, yada, just trying to help.

$2,107.00 per night? Wow, for that amount I may consider renting you my house for the event. You may want to consider staying in either Hollister or Gilroy. You can drive to Fort Ord from either of those locations in approximately 30 minutes.
