    Hi all,

I am going on factory tour in May and would like recommendations on hotels there. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

We stayed at the Planet Hotel just across from the factory, and in the same building as the Ferrari Store... it was great...comfortable and well-appointed... I'd stay there again.

There are lots of suggestions on here. When I went, I stayed in Bologna, partially because my wife wasn't too excited about hanging about in Maranello for a couple of days. Other than Ferrari, there's not all that much to do there.

More to do,see and eat in Modena than Maranello itself. Stay at Canal Grande hotel in center
    or Fini

My recommendation is the Planet Hotel. It's just across the street from the Factory in one direction and just across the street from the Cavallino Ristorante in another. Almost all of the other Ferrari attractions (Galleria Ferrari, Pista di Fiorano, various and sundry trinket shops) are all within walking distance.

You can also get a suite on the top floor at reasonable cost, and it will either overlook Pista di Firoano or the Factory. Can't beat the view!

The staff is terrific, and the manager, Franco, can arrange tours to a local Balsamic vinegar estate (absolutely exquisite), Lambrusco winery (need I say more?), and Parma cheese dairy - just schedule in advance. You'll find the Maranello/Modena area is an absolute treasure.

Don't miss the Montana Ristorante just down the road - best meal I've ever had in my life. It was Schumi's favorite. Reservations required.

I forgot to mention that the Ferrari Store is in the same building as the hotel. As our taxi driver came into town, he pointed to the Factory and said, "Top Secret!" and then to the Ferrari Store and said, "Top Dollar." Buon viaggio!

Nice 1st Post 'GT Ferrari'.....Thats the best itnerary, I did almost exactly what you listed 2 years ago !

Lambrusco and Balsamic is fantastic. Also, eat at Montana's (Not Cavallino), and you can walk to all the attractions (Fiorano, Galleria, Factory, Ferrari store all in the same day.)

+1, stayed in a Fiorano view suite on my honeymoon, was a great room with fantastic views. Nothing like waking up to the sounds of Ferraris going through the streets! There are also a few places to rent throughout Maranello, nice option but pricey.

Executive... that is where all the "Ferrari" business folks stay.

Exactly what I did. Canal Grande was excellent - 30 Euros taxi to factory.
