Marriott city center is good. Good rooms, decent dining/bar, walking distance to the stadium and pretty much everything else that's downtown. We really liked Lavecchias which is right around the corner in the Hearst tower BTW... great lobster.

What sort of place, and do you want expensive etc

Westin is good and very close to football, or you could look at Loft at the Epicenter

I live in downtown Charlotte - Always recommend the Holiday Inn Center City.

Just refurbished - walking distance to everything. Rates are very good - but they do jack up the rates some on football weekends as do other hotels downtown.

    Enjoy your visit.

If you plan to go out then it's likely you will end up at the Epicenter http://epicentrenc.com/ , that being said, if you want to stay where you play I recommend the Aloft at Epicenter or the Omni which is also attached. The epicenter is also walking close to the stadium

I know this seems odd, but the Hampton Inn at Phillips Place in SouthPark is nice. And you can walk less than 100 yards down a sidewalk to Wolfgang Puck's, Dean and Deluca Wine Room, P.F. Chang's and The Palm.
