    Hi guys,

    I'm after a little help form you New York locals.

    Myself and my girlfriend are planning a trip to NYC in November and are looking for a good hotel near all the attractions in Manhattan. We have a budget of around $160 USD a night (I know it's small for NYC) and this will be our first trip to the US.

    Can you locals recommend anywhere, preferably a hotel with a Website so we can book/look on the net.

    Many Thanks

    Julian;

    I took a look on my IBM employee travel site. NYC is a tough one for $160 a night. I did find one that is in a good location on 7th and 56th. Great for shopping, near the theaters, just a few blocks from Central Park. The Hotel is the Park Central 212-247-8000. Tell them you need the IBM rate which is $156 / night. The rooms have wireless LAN, in room Safe, Gym, etc. Let me know if you have any problems. Again not the best, but not bad.

    BTW I am in Macclesfield often. My roomate from school grew up there, and still has a house on Dark Lane. I have a whole group of friends there including the Robinson's of Frederic Robinson Brewery.

    I have spent a fair amount of time in Wilmslow......Great town esp for both car and woman watching. BTW the local Ferrai dealer near you has a nice collection / store....try to go there now and then when I am not on a shoot.

    $160 a night is pretty tough but not impossibe. I would check hotels.com to see what you have to work with. Any of the big names are good.

    Unfortunatly the local Ferrari dealer has now moved into central Manchester, but we still have the Porsche and Aston Martin dealers in the town. Still a good place to spot Ferrari's though with plenty of 360's and 550's around. As for the woman..........................

    Good Luck

    Julian
