If you plan to do some casino hopping, all the better hotspots including the station casinos off the strip will allow you to park your beast safely yourself right in front with no problem. Some valets will tell you the policy is for you to leave them the keys with the promise they won't touch it, but an extra gratuity will usually placate them. Most nightclubs and better restaurants with parking valets will do the same. Twenty bucks is the expected gratuity for the priviledge except a fifty is more appropriate at a few places like The Palms on weekend nights.

There are NO "UP" Spots @ Wynns.
Generally you are better off @ the Local Casinos. Orleans,Rampart are some examples.

    TIP up Front !!!

When I come to your town in my thing, I expect to have a good time. I do not often stay off the strip. Parking my thing is so much fun. The wife has finally accepted the fact of the problem with parking it. She does like her Audi but a 550 tells a different story. My dear wishes to stay at the MGM Grand. Nuts, now I have to drive there to check the MGM Grand out. Will it allow me to park my beast in a protected spot? If not, rats.

Wherever you park here, pay the extra charge to have it parked up front.

I've seen what goes on behind the scenes. I worked as a valet over the summer at a local casino...not cool. It may be worse/better on the strip though.

I was aware of a number of valet parkers who made over $75K in the late 1980's. It's not unreasonable to believe that 15 years later $100K or more is possible.

I know at one of the hotels in Boston (the only 5-diamond one), the doorman made well over $100k.

The current Valet friends I have work at the MGM, and Palms.

I have seen their tips for one night of work, $400-$500 regularly. Weekend night.

If you go to the wrong hotel...I've seen Lamborghini burnouts in the garage.

I got fired from my job for going off on the manager for not doing anything about most of his staff driving cars coruptly. I told him about it, how often it was occuring, and even provided proof on my camera phone. He basically brushed me off, and told me not to ever come back. Even though I made the most money I ever had as a valet, I will not work for someone like that.

Sounds like the offending valets and management staff need lessons in basic RESPECT for other peoples property. Surely management wouldn't condone such practices from their valets.

I know...I found it really suspicious.

Maybe if I find some free time I'll actually try and do something about it.

I didnt really want to, but my parents requested it and I respect their opinion. I think the new name fits, as I'm getting more addicted to Ferrari's by the day. Tell me what you think of the new avatar I made for you. I was really bored, use it if you'd like!

Well, I am coming to Las Vegas sometime in October. I must stay at the Monte Carlo. Nuts. I must contact security to make sure my sweet thing is OK like the last time. It is cheaper as they do not take tips.

I only park my own car. The Valets will be losing around $50 - $75 dollars. I tip both ways. Too bad.

I talked to a group of valets today at Wynn about parking Ferrari's at the hotel and they claim they don't leave them out front, but have a "special area" in their underground parking garage. Out of curiosity I told him that a lot of Ferrari owners talk about them on the internet on whether to trust them with their machines. He had a surprised look on his face and said they do talk about us. I said yes and their concerned about your lead foot, he started laughing and he said it wasn't him that does that. Yeah right.

Like many of the newer hotels, the valet parking is actually underground so there is a steep ramp they must drive to get underneath. I asked him about the ramp and how it may damage some of the Ferrari's with a long front overhang and again said no, no we don't have that problem we drive them to a special place down there. Yeah right. Nice guy, but I'm not sure if I'd trust him with my gem.

I bet some valets, not all, would be like a kid at a candy store when given the keys to park an F-Car.

Why don't the Casinos do an exposee on the practice i.e. set up hidden cameras or surveillance equipment to catch the offending valets. This would serve to weed out and catch the bad elements (unscrupulous valets).

The Hard Rock has usually got some good spaces right in the valet portico, and they see so many exotics that the valet guys would most likely be professional. The down side is a lot of tourists will be able to get very close to the vehicle, for photos and the like. Risk of damage? Perhaps.
