Has anyone else had problems with this new Hotmail policy? "To protect our users from the increasing amount of unsolicited junk e-mail or spam sent from MSN HotmailSympatico Mail accounts through Outlook and Outlook Express, we have reluctantly had to restrict the new use of Outlook and Outlook Express to subscribers. By making this feature part of a subscription, (which requires a user to provide billing information), we can more effectively manage and put a stop to abuse of this functionality, and help protect you and others from unsolicited mail. If you purchase a subscription service such as MSN Hotmail Plus or MSN Premium, you get access to your account from Outlook or Outlook Express, along with many other added features. To see other benefits of upgrading your MSN HotmailSympatico Mail or MSNSympatico/MSN accounts or to create a new subscription account please visit our subscription information page." Seems that you can't synchronise your hotmail account into Outlook or Outlook express without being a "paid subscriber"! Anyone have any G-mail invites left? May be time to move!!!
I hate to say it, but it's a good move for hotmail. Also, if you need an invite, I have a good handful as well.
Does that have anything to do with having to enter my password everytime I want to check my Hotmail now? It's been that way for a few weeks.
Mine will only let me "download" it to outlook about once then I get a message that says my password is wrong and I have to log into my account online.
PM sent Thanks!! The other question is can you synchronize G-mail to outlook? I haven't checked it out at all yet.
I never use outlook, just use it online... at first I thought it was a cookie problem but a bunch of my friends are experiencing the same problem.
I've noticed this too over the last week. Even if you check the "remember my password" it keeps requesting. Maybe they are trying to purge accounts for anyone that can't remember their password.
I'm pretty sure it's some kind of stupid thing that they messed up and haven't sorted out yet. I have a friend who actually pays for the expanded Hotmail service and she is having the same problem. She tried emailing the Hotmail tech support people and it came back as undeliverable.
The other day it actually uploaded all my mail from outlook back to hotmail. I had to log into hotmail (and enter the funky verification thing like ticketmaster uses). Then next time I opened outlook it downloaded them all back.
