As promised, I took pictures of the F430 that was at Custom Car Stereo. A family friend of ours works there and apparently tells us that the car belongs to a woman; a basketball player bought it for her as a gift. The car was there to get new wheels because the other ones were curbed. I say, NICE choice on the wheels. I really dig the chrome and high gloss red. Anyway, Hope ya'll like them. I figured a thread would be more appropiate then posting them in the Houston Spotters thread.

A set of aftermarket wheels can either make or break a car. In this case, it is the latter. Shame too, the F430 is a beautiful car otherwise.

Those rims in my opinion don't suit the beautiful lines of the F430 at all. There to gangster. Ugly. Gimme stock rims please :)

Are those Volk GTC wheels? They look like them. The chrome is making it hard to make out.

Does she wear a huge "dollar sign" necklace encrusted with CZ on a 32 inch heavy link chain??? Gold capped front teeth, massive fake diamond earrings and a cap yanked over to one side and backwards? The car with those wheels makes it look like she should....................

Sorry, I guess I am just too much a purist to appreciate "dumbing down" a 430. I bet she does not appreciate the car for what it really is........

C'mon guys this is the wife of a basketball player:rolleyes: Obviously money can't buy class or taste. I am sure these people are not the best educated or refined about Ferraris. They probably have an ATV in the garage with rims on it as well:)..All she is concerned with is the bling when rollin' in da hood on dubz:D:D:D

Has no idea what she has and went and ghetto'd it up with the chrome, kinda sad if you ask me:(

I feel sorry for the car and the owner for not knowing any better.

Custom Car Stereo off of 59 right? Is that pic from inside there? If so they've changed that place completely since I last was there, well that was also around '98.

Really? I'm glad I know that now. I plan on getting them to install the alarm on my next car because I was so pleased with their professionalism on my first truck. Not to mention their extensive installs on high end autos.

Ouch. Kind of harsh. You never know if said basketball player lurks here... since the season is over for Houston. These wheels aren't really that bad. In any case, I commend them for customizing.

If your concern is over gaudiness, then you would have to ignore the whole rest of the 430, which is kind of like a 'Hotwheels Whips' version of a 360 in the first place!

I think they look good. At least they thought of something different, Ferrari couldn't even do that. I know the people at Ferrari were saying, "Hmmm should we put on some Enzo knock-off wheels or some of those we have left from the Stradale run?" LOL

I give them props. Bottom line...they have a F430, we don't...who's laughing now?

    Just my .02, Ciao!

They're high on price but for their awesome craftmanship and expertise, it's really all worth it. My sound system was customized by them and it sounds amazing. I would never trust anyone else with my car except them. Ask for Tony, he's a good family friend of ours and he's probably the best out of the whole CCS crew.

BTW, now they have a wheel shop in there called 713motoring (Yes, ripoff of 310motoring). Nothing that appeals to me but a pretty good buisness step.

Heh heh... Ferrari designers choose the OEM wheels: "Should we go with the 5-spoke wheels, or with these 5-spoke wheels?"

If you look at the option sheet when you spec it out you can get either the Enzo knock-off wheels or an optional wheel that (I'll be darned) looks just like the Stradale wheel. If you squint just right they kinda look like my BBS wheels that are on my 360 Challenge. Now tell me, is that really worth it, or even an upgrade to a car that is 90% new?

Like I said, if the dude can afford it, let him do whatever he likes.
I remeber when Tim Duncan got an early 360 in 1999, he put some axe blade nike swoosh looking chrome bling bling-diddy blings on the car. It looked like lipstick on a pig, but hey it was Tim so what could you say?

Now I'm up to .03 on this matter...Ciao,
    Wes

I think I might know what wheels you're talking about and if so, THEY'RE are some mighty hideous looking wheels. I saw a 360 with Spinners in one the pictures of the 05 Gumball and 'thumbs down'.

I feel what Murcie is saying though, to a certain extent. I saw some rock star on the MTV show "Cribs" who was showing off his 360 and first he mispronounces Modena 'MOE-deena" and then he said the only reason he bought it was because of the paddle shifts or something like that. I dont know, but it bothers me when Rock/Rap stars buy Ferraris and have no clue about the car's history, specs, etc and spit out gibberish about the car.

"WHOOO! Yea, It's 50, A.K.A. Ferrari, F-50, Break it down.
I got a lot of livin, to do before I die"
    -Wanksta by 50 Cent.

    ^ Perfect example.

Other than that. Like I said before, I like the wheels. But im sure the lady has no clue to even what type of engine is in the F430 or where it's even located at. There will always be unappreciative and ignorant Ferrari owners.

Registering yourself to F-chat is the first step to proving that you're really passionate about Ferrari's. We'll wait and see if she registers.

Cool. When I was in there when I was 15 getting my cd player in, two guys came in and jacked an amp they asked to look at. It was crazy. I may pay a higher price but to me ive always felt you typically get what you pay for. Thanks for the recommendation. If everything goes well with finding a job, i will be in a new car by no later than September.

I came across more harsh that what was intended, I apologize if I made myself look like an @$$:D

It could be worse, the wheels could be red instead of chrome:eek:

This is the same 430 we saw in Pearland. The owner plays for the Trailblazers. Last time I saw he had 4 vehicles in his driveway, all with 20"+ bling-style wheels. Ughhh! Should have known he'd do it to the 430 too.;-(

Further proof that sports stars typically have no class and very poor taste.
