...on 59/Chimney Rock? They've been gone awhile now, and I've been wondering why they left/folded.

I've purchased several cars from them over the years, including my prized 77 308 GTB.
Howard Love, Juergen, and Ron Sandrock over there were always good to me; I never got the chance to say thanks and goodbye....

They might have folded up shop like a deck chair, if so what a shame. They used to bring some repair jobs to Pinnacle Motorsports, nice guys to deal with if I remember correctly. I looked at a henna red BMW 630 they had for sale as a project car. (but needed a little work)

you're not going to get any answers here or somewhere else. too many different rumors/speculations/etc. to allow someone to post anything with risking libel

i too purchased 3 or 4 cars from howard and never really had any problems.

I traded in my mondial and 86 TR for a 91 TR. I actually did enjoy working with Howard but we did have a snag. He sent a guy to do a PPI on my two cars in Dallas and we made a deal for the difference. They picked up the Mondial and TR in Dallas and on a seperate truck sent the 91 TR from Houston. The truck with my two cars made it to Houston first and he didn't like the PPI that HIS guy did so he stopped the delivery of the 91 TR to me. My two choices were to call off the deal or pay another $8k cause "his guy screwed up and didn't describe my cars correctly". I went ahead and paid but it still sticks with me. Bottom line was $32k for my 86 TR and $12k for the Mondial and then I paid retail for the 91 TR. They sold the MOndial to a guy in NY and they left MY plates on it when they shipped it!!!!!!! I have $250 of parking tickets from NYC for the damn car. I sent NYC copies of my paperwork showing when I traded the cars in and NYC didn't care. I still get letters and calls from the collection agency on it but I don't owe it so I didn't pay it. Not very professional on their part to ship my car to their buyer with my plates on it and its a lesson to take your plates with you when you sell a car.

    Greg B,
    Wow, thanks for the info..

    wspeer,
I know, but I'd just like to hear somebody give me an idea what happened, without saying it is the "gospel" truth.. Would that present a legal issue?

Last I spoke to then I got the impression that business was bad. Maybe that's all it was...

Business IS bad, padner, especially if your attention to detail reads like that!

I would kill someone if I missed a detail in what I do.........

i unfortunately had two bad experiences with them - the only two times i dealt with them. i will not go into any detail but my experiences with them were unreal and belonged in a movie. after dealing with these guys, i am considerably suspicious of all high end used car dealers with regards to fraud on all accounts

i just returned from europe for f1 races. while staying in belgium, someone staying ta the same place from us was from south africa. we were staying at an old chateau, not a hotel. there really wasn't a bar, but a room for after hours drinks. they were from south africa. i mentioned i had only met one person from south africa, and looked at my wife and said "howard, the car guy", the female of the couples response was, "don't tell me howard love"

i was shocked as hell. the story that followed was old, but happened to be an almost exact recreation of the current stories i have heard. what are the chances of something like this happeneing?

i can't say. i always had good dealings with howard. i know of the specifics of greg's statements, i know there was an issue. i also know of other specifics involving others that seem to support "allegations" of problems.

whatever the case, it is funny how a company with a reasonabley good reputation dissappered overnight. i would like to think it was because of the original location being consumed by the i-10 widening project, but based on recent events (belgium), i may be wrong.

I bought a 1997 Dodge viper and a 2004 Dodge Ram from Ron And Howard about 2 1/2 years ago and payed cash! After about 1 1/2 year i never got a title in on the Ram 1500 so i put both the Viper and the truck on consignment with Mr.Love..so i keep in touch with them over the next few month and they tell me they have a buyer for both vehicles. The next thing i know there phone is off and the place is locked up when i go up there!{NO TRUCK & NO CAR} since then i have filed on both Ron & Haward and memorial 1 motorsports. This is why i would love to hear from someone who knows anything? Any info would be great thanks!
