Me too! With the recent events there I was not sure if it was still being held at that location. I am glad it still is because the selection of vehicles is beyond approach.
My buddy and I were out riding our bikes training for next week's MS 150, and I had completely forgotten that Cars & Coffee was going on. We were riding along the wooded street behind the Vintage and heard (and barely saw) a matte black Lamborghini going flying by the opposite way. Figured it was a good idea to go ride someplace else for the day. We rode up the side of the shopping area and even thought for a bit to ride through to see the cars, but looking at those pics it was crazy packed. Plus Spandex isn't very flattering in public.....
This event has been like that for years, super packed, but overall the cars and people are great. I only attend a few events a year and this one always exceeds expectations.

I stopped going to the Dallas C&C a long time ago and it was mainly due to poor etiquette on the part of many of the spectators. one in particular had a dog, on a chain leash and I personally witnessed that leash rubbing against my car. not cool! then the show became dominated by mustangs and camaros. trust me, I like most cars including american muscle but it got to be too much. this war of words ensued that had undertones of "us vs. the 1%" - totally childish. if memory serves, Classic BMW even had a bunch of their cars keyed at one event, which is unbelievable. of course there was this display of pure driving skill at one event: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDi7OSTHbwQ people gather around these exits to hear the cars and watch them take off. someone could have really gotten hurt! yeah, no thanks...no more C&C for me. I went to the first event here in DFW many years ago and back then, it was very cool. granted, I haven't been in a while but if I go again, I'm taking my daily and not showing my car.
Now that the event has been cancelled 2 months in a row, maybe this is it. I actually went yesterday as I didn't know, there were about 50 cars there.....mostly crappy newer cars.......no exotics, just a couple classics.....looked and felt like a funeral. Was out of there in 10 minutes....ghost town.
Thanks for the update as I was just wondering if I should go to the next one, guess not. I wonder if the exotic car guys/gals have found a new venue?
According to these videos, ban the Corvettes... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWIg6W0y_W4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDi7OSTHbwQ
This sucks. I wanted to go to Houston next month to see this show but now that it's a flop, it won't be worth it.
I finally man up and buy an exotic....just as the show implodes. As of right now, it is on for July.....but the June event was cancelled a week out. I think I'm going to skip the next couple of months and see if it comes back strong....have a feeling it won't. Not aware that the exotic guys have broken away, though I've heard talk alot of them want to have a more private show.
Try Super Car Saturdays. Much more private and much smaller. Nice little gathering, great people and cars. Its first Saturday of the month at West Avenue.
If anybody else goes to this, let s know how it is......the pictures make it look clausterphobic. As of right now, C&C is still on......but they haven't posted on their facebook site since June 2nd....
Apparently it is on for this weekend, and it will be back at Vintage Park. I have not see anything about it but I had a few calls today from people wanting to get their cars ready for it. They know something I don't haha
Pretty good crowd this morning. I only saw about 8 Ferraris of various types, though the Lambos were out in force. I didn't get to walk much, but there was quite a stable of Aston-Martins along with a McLaren and a Noble. For the most part. people seemed to be behaving.
I need to make it back down there one of these months. Also, has anyone checked out super car saturdays? How is it doing?
I am thinking about checking out SCS next weekend but for the life of me I cannot MapQuest the exact location/intersection. Does West Ave cross River Oaks Blvd or vice versa and since I live off Westheimer it would be a lot closer for me than the Louetta C&C event. Although if I attended the C&C event I could hookup with Grady for lunch and see some familiar faces and cars.
Here is the exact location (http://www.westaveriveroaks.com/): http://goo.gl/maps/TbBJK. I went this month after a somewhat mediocre cars and coffee and had a blast (MUCH nicer atmosphere, tasteful DJ, shade, upper level where you can see the cars from above). There was an Ultima GTR, 599 GTO, 430 Scuderia, two Aventadors, etc. this month. Quality>quantity. Hope that helps and post some pics after you go!
Thank you Zach that helps a lot ! Like you I prefer quality over quantity but I will not complain with either as I only attend one or two events per year. So it is held off Kirby Drive and I know where that is. Thanks again, Gregg
