worth going to?
theres always something a bit different there so I think its worth walking around since so cheap. Its not Detroit or Geneva or anything even close to that though....
I usually stop by -- try to go on off times though. It used to be significantly better (before the Detroit downturn). It has never recovered.
I think all the auto shows used to be a lot better. There used to be quite a few concept cars every year when I was a kid. I came in from college for the day along with a friend who drove in from Austin just to see the Enzo when it debuted. Got there before it opened so we cold see it with minimal people.
geneva is truly the best one, but i would be happy with a walk through of the houston show - why not.
Said construction was on the other side of the parking exit and there was no construction at the parking entrance. I took my (black) 360 and it was no more dusty when I got home as any other day. It's all good.
Well I went in the entrance I typically take to get into the arena. I did not realize you could get in the other way. What did you think of the show?
Excellent BBQ sandwich, but I have never seen so many trucks and SUVs at a car show. On an entertaining note I got in a debate with one of the Porsche guys (my wife just walked over to the Aston Martins) about four-piston vs six-piston brakes on their silver Cayman. I extended my hand and offered to bet and he said I'm all over it. I motioned for him to kneel down with me and I counted the pistons ... one, two on the outboard and two more on the inboard. Perplexed, he goes back to the booth and flips through a brochure. Then he looks something up on his phone. He "conveniently" found another customer to talk to and never came back. I can be such an turd sometimes.
i would definitely like to go, and definitely want to meet you. but i missed your note, and cannot really go until this weekend. let me know if you want to go again and i will meet you there.
One show per week, so no repeat visit this year. Beautiful weekend, so I hope to be on the golf course. Tried to PM you about this but the system said your messaging inbox is full.
yes sorry, its often full. i just deleted a few so its open again. but i also emailed you. too bad. enjoy the golf !
I went yesterday. Much bigger crowd then I thought would be there. Its not bad. I like looking at regular cars so some interesting new stuff. Favorite things though were the R8 and new Lotus Evora 400R.... Its hard for me to admit as well as I used to hate the car but the new TT-S looks really good both inside and out. Its def on my mind now....Kind of has a mini-R8ish feel about... Promo girls are def better this year as well lol...
Val is baby sitting a 6 year old for a friend, so let's do it! I have not forgotten about your book cases, I have some info....
I really enjoyed it, along with ross as he knows the Euro market for a lot of these models, design criteria and so forth. We stopped and quized the Alfa stand pretty hard, about "where does the top store", and the "speed rating of the canvas replacement unit"... The model there WAS one of the prettiest, but "hottest pose" was over at some wheel vendor in front of a Lambo. Price no Object: a new McLaren Value for money: corvette Class and style: Mercedes or the R8 Missing in Action: Ferrari Lamborghini New NSX
No, which was a shame, the first GT I ever saw was there....TRUCKS man!! They sell TRUCKS! They will probably leave them all there, and relocate on site for the Rodeo display!!!
