    a long trip. about 8 500 mile trips is all I had done over 8 years. how long was the Smokey Mt. trip?

    When I bought the car from Dave, I drove it home to Connecticut, about 1800 miles in a couple of days. I think Dave drove it through the Smokies when he bought the car in Connecticut and drove it to Houston.

    Fun job wasn't it? Not much room to move all that stuff around. Took my time on mine but it was still quite an undertaking.

    Wow !!

    I've got a totally new perspective on white 400. This ivory'ish white was surprisingly beautiful :) Very nice indeed.

    Did it come in other shades of white or is this the one ? Thought I've once seen a much colder standard white,but now I wonder...

    White ones are pretty striking imo - would love to run into one on the road (not literally)...

    I used to see a white 412 in London regularly in the late 1980s - it looked and sounded great.

    I fell in love with these cars as a student in London in the late 80's. They looked smart parallel parked around Notting Hill and Kensington... Good memories

    Why I was infatuated with the 400i since the early '80's is that a neighbor that was dealing with cars iut of his garage in Malibu had a white on white one, yes, white exterior and white interior.Wondering if anyone knows of that car?

    Those pictures were taken at the Ault Park Concours, in Cincinnati, Ohio (if I'm not mistaken). That car may have belonged to forum member Bergxu.
