Anyone else stuck at home? I already tried to make it to work once, and had to come back. I think I'm gonna try again here in a bit, but from what I understand Loop Central is still under water.
I was thinking about coming down Wheels & Keels, after living there for a couple of years I'm not a fan of bad weather in Houston. For the locals I'm sure it's just another day.
My Houston daughter called, and said her school got cancelled. Some spots had 10-12" of rain, and the underpass up from her apartment was closed for high water.
I slept through the entire thing. LOL I woke up and turned on the news and couldn't believe it. I walked outside to see the streets flooded. I was sleeping really well last night to not hear any of that. My girlfriend said she woke up to her son getting in bed with her. She lives in the Bear Creek area and they are saying that area got hammered.
Driving home last evening in the thick of it, was VERY challenging... My gf text'd real early, and said "don't go......stay home" but I had important schedule today... High water off West Loop 610 at 59S but once there made it out okay, all along the highway were parked cars tho where the feeders were flooded, they couldn't exit! Sun is out now....
Go to Houston's Transtar website, that's who is watching all those freeway cameras.....the exclamation points on the map are trouble areas and it's color coded to current speeds......
Finally made it in to work, but only worked 6.5 hours. I thoroughly enjoyed the light traffic. I made it from Westpark to Pinemont (290) in 5 minutes at 4:15pm. That never happens. Not even on the weekend.
