    ......to the rear bumper?

On my M2.7 there are four brackets crudely fibreglassed onto the inside of the rear bumper which contain a caged nut...the diffusers bolt onto this...

These 4 brackets i'm sure are original but not sure that they came from the factory simply fibreglassed into the bumper...it's very crude.

Parts book does not show these brackets as seperate parts so maybe they were indeed fibreglassed in as part of the bumper itself.

Anyone know or got any photos of their own rear bumper/diffuser arrangement?

But i thought you already knew that theres only two 10mil bolts that hold the diffuser to each side of the bumper.
From what i saw you resurrected an old rear bumper removal thread on club scud, by even comMenting on it i assumed you had already followed the instructions and removed your bumper.
There isnt anything else to know, theres a total of 4 bolts mate.
Just have a quick look and you will see.

    I know this Dino

My question is how are the brackets attached to the bumper..not how are the diffusers attached to the brackets.

Please read my post with care.

Interesting. I have about had it with the under panel on my 348 hvac unit. Those silly louvers have snagged on my driveway board 3 times and broken off. I am repairing it for the third time and finally took it all the way off. I am ready to replace it with vinyl and bend tabs for the screws. Also have massive Bridg-it driveway ramp on order. I hope its wide enough.

The rear mounting tabs which the rear defuser panels are bolted to, are molded into the rear bumper, if I remember right.

    Screwed you say?
Mine are just fibreglassed into the bumper.

Maybe M5.2 cars were screwed and earlier ones weren't?

    Thanku Barry

Brackets are crudely fibreglassed to the inside of the bumper on your challenge like my m2.7.

I think that on later cars the brackets were bolted to a raised block on the bumper in a better way.
