For $495.00....someone better give it a try!!!!!

If its pretty good....it will soon be pretty expensive.

If it is so/so but acceptable.....it will soon be expensive.

If it sucks, it was worth a try!!!!!

They used to sell, or at least ask $900 for it. Back in the day I bought one for 700. Now 500. Wait a bit and you might get it cheaper. I think they are overstocked on these units. But for the price, some one try it out. I have not even installed mine to tell you how goo it is.
If someone lives in the Los Angeles area, you are more than welcome to come by and try mine on. Its brand new as you see in the EBAY auction and you can test the sound before you buy one.

One of the things holding me back is that they don't even have a video or sound clip of it.....I was hoping someone here on Fchat had already bought one and installed it. Are you planning on installing it soon?

There is another model selling for 750$ and it's called top speed pro 1 performance:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ferrari-355-F355-GTB-GTS-Spider-95-99-Performance-Catback-Exhaust-System-/230432725773?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item35a6dc5b0d

The seller selling the 750$ model claims that the seller selling the 500$ item is a cheap knock-off of his exhaust. To me they're probably identical!!!

My guess would be that it'll sound o.k. (maybe not great, maybe not bad), but installation will be the hard part. F355 mufflers seem to always be a beyotch to install. From X-OST, to Larini, to Tubi, the ones we sold always need a bit of muscle to get properly fit and aligned. That center inlet seriously mucks up the geometry of the installation.

(In a way, the Scud, California, Gallardo, and some Astons are a revelation in simplicity because the 'tips' are actually false trim pieces in the bumper, and the muffler exits simply pop into those larger diameter outlets. Alignment is nowhere near are rough. A lot of new cars are going this route.)

The real determination of the muffler's value is whether you like it or not. If you like it, then its a great value. If you hate it, then its a loss. Ideally, you'd get it fitted then compare your car to a friends F355 equipped with a Tubu, Larini, Capristo, or whatever.... then make a judgement call for your enjoyment.

I have two sets of catless pipes from them. One set I cannot use as they are for 308 QVs or a Testarossa.

They (Top Speed Pro 1) are VERY WELL MADE. Extremely sturdy materials and welds.

Perhaps they are even TOO WELL MADE if that is possible as they appea they would be tough to bend me thinks.

I have test pipes from another VERY HIGHLY noted manufacturer at WAY above the price Pro 1 wants and although they are good, they are not nearly in the same quality league, IMHO.

The only complaint is the air injector pipe bung needs to be reworked as it is "backwards," meaning it has the threads on the outside of the bung instead of the inside as my 308 GTSi cats do. Other models I have no idea though.

Should be a pretty simple fix though but it would be nice to have them come correctly from the manufacturer.

Disclaimer: I have NO Affiliation with ANY exhaust system or parts manufacturer.

I bought the test pipes from them and they fit, sounded and worked great...so I bought the muffler some time later. the fit was awful, had to machine an adapter ring for the bypass valve, the tips did not align (took a floor jack and 2 X 4) but when it was all done it
sounded and looked OK,,,about like the stock on low end a little more higher pitch on WOT, the next time i have to pull the bumper I will reinstall the OEM unit...

My car already has Fabspeed headers, y-pipe and catbypass pipes ceramic coated and attached to an Oem muffler and it all sounds pretty good. Check out the sound here:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_X_SZZdOY84&feature=youtu.be

The reason I wanted to change the muffler was to gain significant improvement to the sound of the car but are you telling me there is basically no difference?

If so I will not give myself the headache of installing a new exhaust and I will save 500$

My bad. You are correct. Mine is the top speed one. You can have it for $500 if you wish. I have not installed it nor do I have time to install it. I have a TUBI on mine and bought this one just for future use if I get a rear ended car, I could have a replacement muffler.

I wouldn't install that low priced muffler and or any high priced muffler from any company until you have some data and sound bites.

At least with Tubi and some other established brands there is Empiracle independent back to back chassis dyno data and actual Video sound tracks. One should never ever assume that any and all Polished stainless steel mufflers and backboxes are the same. There is a lot of engineering, design and street, racetrack and dyno testing that goes into making a quality exhaust system that adds both sportscar sound, significant power and long term durability so your car doesn't have a fire.

In the Porsche world for example there cheap super thin walled stainless steel mufflers that were bent up on a simple sheet metal brake like HVAC ductwork and the mufflers crack and break and it's so commonplace to have melted rear bumpers and engine compartment fires.
I won't mention the name of the company but all Porsche people know them. Busted mufflers are public domain.

A super cheap low price bargain basement with no dyno data, no sound bites and reports of reworking "cutting and rewelding" inlet and outlet pipes and those non adjustable straight rolled edge round tips looks really really weak. I don't make rear mufflers for these cars so this is just my expert opinion.

caveat emptor other companies on this forum have been pushing super discounted value
priced imported poorly constructed thin walled polished bespoke garbage with no dyno data. I have seen cars loose up to -30HP with certain polished stainless steel junk garbage mufflers after a shop has to rework it to fit. I tell you what if anyone buys that muffler or any muffler that they are concerned about send it to me. I will internally scope it and for $200 I will have it fully NDT X rayed so we can see the engineering or lack of inside and if you are local Fabspeed can install and perform instrumented back to back Chassis dyno testing.

    Best regards
    Joe fabiani

Based on Joe's opinion that I respect because I own Fabspeed products and I am happy with them, I am not going to mess with my setup and keep my OEM muffler for now. I still hope someone who has tried this cheaper exhaust will eventually chime in on this thread so we can learn more....
