How bad is it really ? Someone said it was destroyed, the News said it was bad but not as bad as expected Hope you guys & your Ferraris made it out well. Best of luck WH
Wow...my prayers go out to everyone effected by the Hurricane. I can tell you via 3rd party that USAR (urban search and rescue) is saying that it is really bad in New Orleans. My brother has noted that they are considering flying rescue squads in helicopters to perform vertacle breaches through roofs to rescue people. It has to be very, very bad for them to even consider this. Again, my thoughts go out to all of you.
I started donating to Red Cross, Salvation Army, Americares, & CARE when the Tsunami hit in the Indian Ocean Looks like I'm in for the duration

I think once more camera crews arrive in the area tomorrow the true extent of the damage done here will become much more apparent to the outside world.
I have try to call and e-mail to have some news from our friends but no contacts were made.. To them and all N.O the best from all of us in Colorado. Roland F40LM
Pics I've seen are bad...... Ya'll shout out from down there, if we can send any help over from Houston. I'll load the truck and drive it down. FEMA and Red Cross will be in, as soon as today, I'd imagine. Nothing to do now but wait, 'till the pumps can catch up....Corps of Engineers is working on the breached levee, against the lake...that's where it came in.......... Thoughts and prayers with the City of New Orleans. as well as neighbors in Biloxi and Pensacola. We met Mayor Ray Nagin last year at the event...... *waves breaking on Galveston Beach, BIG waves.......*
I'm still waiting to get some sort of concrete info about the Northshore, particularly Eden Isles, Mandeville Lakefront, Covington, and Covington Country Club areas but all that is available is "I heard that..." and "Supposedly.." The only real thing was Nagin on TV earlier saying that the twin spans are gone and that Slidell was under water. I read that Jefferson Parish won't be letting people in until Monday and even then it's only to try to collect belongings and then leave again.
That'll be the drill....you'll need ID to prove you live there, to get thru Law Enforcement...... This is no drill, man. It'll be weeks before all power is restored. Fresh water and ice will be at a premium......the eight hospitals will need fuel pretty quickly, unless they are on natural gas systems......two days is max, on most tanks........ Which span is down??? The long causeway across the lake to the North?? Or the bridge over the river to Slidell, heading east???
John...! i'm so glad you're okay...! i tried calling you a little while ago, but - surprise, surprise! - i got a busy signal... i can't get ahold of Richard, Kelly, Dave G., John Houghtaling, no one... Have you heard from anyone...? i hope you're safe, buddy... Call me if you need anything...
Slidell. As from what I hear the Causeway has weathered it but will only be for emergency vehicles for a while.
Anyone with a 504 area code cell phone is having a hell of a time making a receiving calls, despite being evacuated to other states. VERY frustrating. Richard is in a downtown New Orleans highrise, but nobody has spoken with him that I know of. But I am sure he is safe. Kelly is safe and evacuated Dave we have no idea if he left at the last minute or not, but he wanted to stay. John H., I dont know but someone does. Franco, same.
Keith you can call me at 504-247- 3096 I think Mandeville made out OK . I live in Greenleaves and my neighbors buddy made it to us and said no water damage just trees but most trees were still standing. My NEXTEL is able to recieive calls
